[Python-modules-team] Bug#971676: src:python-dynaconf: Please upgrade to version 3.x
Package: src:python-dynaconf Severity: wishlist Dear maintainer, I have interest in python-dynaconf in Debian being bumped to a version greater than 3.0. Is that something, you can do in the near future? If not, would it ok, if I prepared an upload and did a DPT team upload? Recent upstreamn version seems to be 3.1.1. Would it make sense to go through experimental with such an upload first? The only other package in Debian that depends on dynaconf is the ara-server package. I haven't dug very deep, yet, regarding API changes in Dynaconf 3.x, but we'd surely need to check, whether ara-server can live happily together with Dynaconf 3.x. Please get back to me on how to proceed with a version upgrade of dynaconf in Debian. Thanks! Would you be available for updating the package the coming days? I've prepared a new upload. However, I need to have a close look at the build log. The testsuite prints some warnings and I would like to verify it doesn't include serious errors. Ok. Please ping me once you are ready for upload / have uploaded. Ping. Some feedback... * seconding Emmanuel Arias' request: don't put unstable in the first d/changelog line, if you haven't uploaded, yet. Use UNRELEASED instead. * I personally don't like debcommit style commits, because they are not cherry-pickable. I normally do commit the changes only, but leave d/changelog untouched (except for upstream version bumps). Then the last commit before uploading is a commit that updates d/changelog from Git history (using "gbp dch --auto") * Bump Standards-Version... Please document what changes were needed to bump S-V: ... or explicitly say: "No changes needed." Otherwise, would you be ok with me doing a team upload? I'm always ok with team uploads ;) As you are currently my applicant in NM, I'd love to sponsor that upload and also give feedback (if there is anything to be said after reviewing). I've prepared the new upstream release. Feel free to have a look at it [1]. I appreciate your feedback. Given... Please fix stuff (Standards-Version -> no changes needed) in the packaging, don't revert anything in Git. Do you need me to sponsor the upload? [Python-modules-team] Bug#947470: paramiko: [Py3] TypeError: a bytes-like object is required, not 'str' in pkey.write_private_key()
Package: src:paramiko Version: 2.6.0-1 Severity: important Control: tags -1 patch Control: forwarded -1 https://github.com/paramiko/paramiko/pull/1583 With the above Python Paramiko version (when used under Python3), writing of SSH private keys to the file system currently fails with this Python exception: ``` File "/pyhoca-gui.upstream/pyhoca-gui/x2go/backends/terminal/plain.py", line 936, in share_local_folder _auth_rsakey.write_private_key(_tmp_io_object) File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/paramiko/rsakey.py", line 154, in write_private_key password=password, File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/paramiko/pkey.py", line 367, in _write_private_key serialization.Encoding.PEM, format, encryption TypeError: a bytes-like object is required, not 'str' ``` I filed a PR upstream that fixes the issue: https://github.com/paramiko/paramiko/pull/1583 As Paramiko upstream is really slow with accepting code changes, please consider cherry-pick the patch to the Debian paramiko package. Currently, local folder sharing is broken in Python X2Go because of this.
