binary:python3-signaller is NEW. source:python-signaller is NEW. Your package has been put into the NEW queue, which requires manual action from the ftpteam to process. The upload was otherwise valid (it had a good OpenPGP signature and file hashes are valid), so please be patient. Packages are routinely processed through to the archive, and do feel free to browse the NEW queue[1]. If there is an issue with the upload, you will receive an email from a member of the ftpteam. If you have any questions, you may reply to this email. I won't claim the update right now but I would suggest that whoever does this, also takes this opportunity to rebase the package on top of 1.4.22. We got the ack from release team to rebase jessie on latest 1.7.x (see #807654) and it makes sense to rebase wheezy on latest 1.4.x (in particular since 1.4.x was a LTS version). Since pymysql is in Debian [1] too, I think it makes > sense for this change to be made in the Debian packaging too. I have reviewed the upstream discussions around this topic and it looks like that upstream decided to not officially support python-pymysql because: - it's 8x time slower than a native MySQL client - it means a supplementary configuration to test - the original interest in pymysql was for Python 3 support but this has been solved upstream by switching to mysqlclient instead of the original python-mysqldb. I don't want to overrule the upstream developers on such a decision and maintaining this as a longterm Debian patch makes no sense either. If someone really wants to use Django with "pymysql" then they could just create an alternate Django db driver. Or package "pymysql" in a way so that it takes over the MySQLdb python module. So I would suggest to actually drop that change in the Ubuntu package instead of trying to merge it in Debian. I'm ccing Corey Bryant who did the change in Ubuntu (in version 1.7.9-1ubuntu4), maybe he can explain why he did the change in the first place? Was it for Python 3 support? [Python-modules-team] Bug#830555: new Foolscap release available
I've just released foolscap-0.12.0 to PyPI, which should fix this. We've deprecated a function that talks to the root nameservers, and this release removes the test that used to exercise that function. I think that was the only place which should be doing off-box network access (there's plenty of localhost access, of course, this being a networking package). I hope that will resolve the issue. Please let me know if there's anything I can do to help get this packaged and (most importantly) the auto-removal of Foolscap and Tahoe-LAFS resolved. thanks! -Brian ___ Python-modules-team mailing list Python-modules-team@lists.alioth.debian.org http://lists.alioth.debian.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/python-modules-team
