That's strange: the build was done in a clean chroot, so twisted is
probably pulled by a build-dep

Bug #841421: python-opcua: FTBFS (build hangs)

The script that generates this mail tries to extract removal
reasons from comments in the britney hint files. Those comments
were not originally meant to be machine readable, so if the
reason for removing your package seems to be nonsense, it is
probably the reporting script that got confused. Please check the
actual hints file before you complain about meaningless removals.

[Python-modules-team] Bug#845015: ipykernel: Provide pypy-ipykernel

2016-11-19 Thread Gordon Ball
Source: ipykernel
Severity: wishlist

It would be useful to build a pypy variant of this package (and possibly also
a pypy3 version), so that it is possible to launch a pypy session in jupyter.

Depending on whether pypy3 (RFP #762346) looks like arriving anytime soon,
it may be worth deferring this so that we only need to go through the
dependencies once.

pygments
simplegeneric
backports-shutil-get-terminal-size
pathlib2

[Python-modules-team] Bug#845009: Cannot specify a 'check' option [ crc32 | crc64 | sha256 ]

2016-11-19 Thread Carlos Maddela
Package: python-lzma
Version: 0.5.3-3
Severity: normal
Tags: patch

Hello!

python-lzma fails with a ValueError exception if you try to set
the 'check' option to any of the accepted values as stated in the
documentation. I have attached an example script to demonstrate the
problem.

This bug was reported upstream quite a while ago now, here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/pyliblzma/+bug/1243344, but remains
unfixed. I have recently forwarded my patch though, here:
https://code.launchpad.net/~e7appew/pyliblzma/bugfix-1243344.

I will soon make my fix to the Debian package along with
other changes in the 'bugfixes' branch of this repo:
https://github.com/e7appew/python-lzma.git.

Best regards,

Carlos

[Python-modules-team] Bug#844714:

2016-11-19 Thread Ondrej Novy
python3-ply:Depends is perfectly supported:
https://anonscm.debian.org/git/python-modules/packages/ply.git/tree/debian/dh_python3-ply#n71

Removing of python{3,}-ply:Depends make package unusable (autopkgtest):
==

ImportError: Failed to import test module: test_c_lexer
Traceback (most recent call last):

I think Adrian is right. Simple rebuild of this package fixies the problem.

Package: pycodestyle
Version: 2.2.0-1
Severity: serious
Justification: Policy 7.2

Hi,

I recently upgraded pycodestyle 2.0.0-1 to 2.2.0-1. Whenever I run
pycodestyle, now I get:

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/pkg_resources/__init__.py", line 635, in

I guess this is because I still have python3-pycodestyle in version
2.0.0-1 installed. It wasn't upgraded because pycodestyle is missing a
versioned dependency on it. Since pycodestyle and python3-pycodestyle
are in the same source package, you might want to write in your
debian/control:

Depends: python3-pycodestyle (= ${binary:Version})

Upgrading python3-pycodestyle to version 2.2.0-1 fixed my problem.

Thanks!

cheers, josch

I added a workaround in 3.0.4-1 by moving twisted to Build-Conflicts. Keeping
the bug report open until the upstream issue is fixed.

[Python-modules-team] Bug#844990: pycodestyle: missing versioned dependency of pycodestyle on python3-pycodestyle

2016-11-19 Thread Johannes Schauer
Package: pycodestyle
Version: 2.2.0-1
Severity: serious
Justification: Policy 7.2

Hi,

I recently upgraded pycodestyle 2.0.0-1 to 2.2.0-1. Whenever I run
pycodestyle, now I get:

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/pkg_resources/__init__.py", line 635, in

pkg_resources.VersionConflict: (pycodestyle 2.0.0

During handling of the above exception, another exception occurred:

not found and is required by the application

I guess this is because I still have python3-pycodestyle in version
2.0.0-1 installed. It wasn't upgraded because pycodestyle is missing a
versioned dependency on it. Since pycodestyle and python3-pycodestyle
are in the same source package, you might want to write in your
debian/control:

Depends: python3-pycodestyle (= ${binary:Version})

Upgrading python3-pycodestyle to version 2.2.0-1 fixed my problem.

Thanks!

cheers, josch
