[python-north-west] December

2019-12-03 Thread Adam Shackleton
Hi Everyone

There isn't a formal Python North West event this month as our normal
Thursday would be too close to Christmas, however a couple of our friends
have Christmas events going on, so if you're looking for a tech Christmas
get together why not try:

code-and-stuff

Tech-for-Good

Hopefully we'll see you at one or other of those, otherwise have a good
December, eat well, rest hard, and we'll see you in 2020.

[python-north-west] December & January Python North West

2018-12-03 Thread Adam Shackleton
Hi everyone

As the third Thursday of this month is solidly in Christmas party / panic
gift buying territory there will be no meeting of Python North West in
December.

However fear not, we shall kick off 2019 with a bang featuring a talk on
Anvil, a full stack Python web solution, more on that nearer the time.

For those of you who don't know, Madlab are no longer hosting meetings (at
least for the time being), so keep an eye on the location for the next few
meetings as they might be a bit more changeable.

If any of you are thinking of adding "Do a talk / lead a session for Python
North West" to your New Year's resolutions, do let me know. We're always
happy to have guest speakers, or even just ideas for sessions you'd like to
see. You can contact me through Meetup
 or Twitter
.

Re: [python-north-west] Python North West December - No meeting

2017-12-07 Thread 'Douglas Lowe' via Python North-West
Hi Adam,

I'd be happy to give a 5 minute talk in January. I'll forward this reminder
onto the CAS python group too.

Also - I've managed to iron out the issue I was having with my mixed
fortran/python code, so it's working well now (you can see how far I've got
here: https://github.com/douglowe/f2py-manic-demo). I'd be happy to give a
talk sometime in the new year (feb, march, or april?) on this if you'd like?

Cheers,
Doug

[python-north-west] Python North West December - No meeting

2017-12-07 Thread Adam Shackleton
Hi All

*Reminder - there is no Python North West meeting this month*, don't turn
up. The best case scenario is that no one will be there and Madlab will be
shut, but there's always a danger that the Ruby group won't have cancelled
and you'll have to go to their meeting. (Just kidding Ruby fans).

*Next month*
Our first meeting of 2018 will be a lightning talks session, we have a few
volunteers already but if you would like to give a talk but are concerned
that you can only speak for 5 minutes continuously on any one topic, this
is the session for you. We won't insist that your talk is Python related
(although it is preferred, we're a python group after all) and will except
walk-ups, but if you do want to give a talk it would be great if you could
let me know either by replying to this email or tweeting us @pythonnw.

All the best, see you in the New Year.
