Re: trying out testlink system. What to do when you find something else wrong than what the test is aimed at?
Jing, I have a little difference opinion. Compare behavior with sheet protection. after enable sheet protection in spreadsheet, whenever input or paste text into it, there is always a warning dialog to let user know the sheet is protected. So back to this story I think it's a defect rather than enhancement. @Georges, I think you can open a defect to report this issue. Here is a reference for how to fire a bug[1] [1] http://wiki.openoffice.org/wiki/QA/HowToFileIssue On Fri, Nov 23, 2012 at 11:25 AM, Du Jing wrote: > Hi all, > > I have submitted a related defect which is about protect effect lost when > save to doc, there is defect link: > https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=120745, > you can reference it. > for your problem description,I think it is not a defect, but from user > friendly degree, suggest fix it as a feature enhancement, and you can file it > in bugzilla and set its type as "Enhancement"~ > > This is bugzilla adress:https://issues.apache.org/ooo/ > > > > On Fri, Nov 23, 2012 at 10:53 AM, Ji Yan wrote: > > > I thought Du Jing reported similar issue before. > > > > @Du Jing, please correct me if i'm wrong. > > > > > > On Fri, Nov 23, 2012 at 7:11 AM, Andrea Pescetti > >wrote: > > > > > Georges Bolssens wrote: > > > > > >> I realize that this wasn't what the test was about, but nevertheless I > > >> think it would be better to trigger the dialog when pasting text also. > > >> How do I address this? Re: trying out testlink system. What to do when you find something else wrong than what the test is aimed at?
Hi all, I have submitted a related defect which is about protect effect lost when save to doc, there is defect link: https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=120745, you can reference it. for your problem description,I think it is not a defect, but from user friendly degree, suggest fix it as a feature enhancement, and you can file it in bugzilla and set its type as "Enhancement"~ This is bugzilla adress:https://issues.apache.org/ooo/ On Fri, Nov 23, 2012 at 10:53 AM, Ji Yan wrote: > I thought Du Jing reported similar issue before. > > @Du Jing, please correct me if i'm wrong. > > > On Fri, Nov 23, 2012 at 7:11 AM, Andrea Pescetti >wrote: > > > Georges Bolssens wrote: > > > >> I realize that this wasn't what the test was about, but nevertheless I > >> think it would be better to trigger the dialog when pasting text also. > >> How do I address this? Georges Bolssens wrote: I realize that this wasn't what the test was about, but nevertheless I think it would be better to trigger the dialog when pasting text also. How do I address this? Is this simply not my call to make and do I run the test as intended, or do I propose this change to the dev-list? If, for whatever reason, you bump into something that looks like a bug (which could be this case, but cell protection is often misunderstood, so have a look that this case is not covered in the help -F1- already), then the best procedure is: 1 - Describe a minimal, step-by-step, procedure to repeat it from an empty document 2 - If, like in this case, you are undecided whether it is actually a bug, feel free to check here on the qa list 3 - Open a bug report at https://issues.apache.org/ooo/ (check for duplicates before posting) Regards, Andrea.
trying out testlink system. What to do when you find something else wrong than what the test is aimed at?
Hi, I was fiddling around with the Testlink system and started testing on AOOTest100 : Table Cell Protect. When I protect a cell and try to *type* something into it, I get a dialog that tells me that I can't because of the protection. However, when I try to *paste* something in there, there's no dialog with an error. I realize that this wasn't what the test was about, but nevertheless I think it would be better to trigger the dialog when pasting text also. How do I address this? Is this simply not my call to make and do I run the test as intended, or do I propose this change to the dev-list?
Re: Could anybody who has MS word 97 help to verify bug 35763?
Hi Lou, I might be able to recover an old installation CD of office 97 (dutch localized version) at work, though I won't be able to get my hands on it for another 2 weeks. How urgent is this? Also: Is there a specific windows version you want to test it on, or is that not important? Re: Not sure if I fully understand your intention...
>> Please select "Apache OpenOffice testproject" at top right corner after login. I totally missed that yesterday evening. When I switch to the other test project I get a whole different story. :) Thanks for the quick reply. I also couldn't find any setting to specify the preferred OS, but I'll figure it out. I have access to the 3 major OS's so I'm sure I can work on most test cases. Best regards and thanks again!
