new QA volunteer
Hi qa, I would like to introduce myself: I'm Amali from Victoria, Australia. I've four years of real experience in software, mostly in C++. Operating systems I've worked with and known about are Unix, Linux, and Windows. I've got Junior Linux certification LPIC-1 as well. I'm interested in C++, Python, Perl, Linux projects. I've got coding experience in C++ and I've done a good amount of manual testing as well; however, I would like to learn more about QA, in areas such as test automation, writing scripts, and automatic testing. thanks, amali.
Re: new QA volunteer
Please review our archives[1] and recent emails about the processes for testing the new AOO 4.1.1 showstopper bugs and report on them. Make sure to mention the machines (or VMs) at your disposal for testing the application under those platforms. Thanks for your asking, please execute steps described on AOOTest-49 and AOOTest-196 with manual, we usually do automation testing in Build Verification Test(BVT) but not in FPR(Full Path Regression). I looked on the wiki but so far I haven't found a guide about it. It seems all the steps would be run from a JAVA piece of code. Then it would be run and the steps described on the TC would be executed in an automatic manner. Some question arise here: Where do I get this script? How do I run it? (version of java, etc.) Do I run it from CLI or from internal AOO application. If there is a guide about creating and executing these testcase https://wiki.openoffice.org/wiki/QA/test_automation_guide and https://wiki.openoffice.org/wiki/QA/vclauto/A_step_by_step_example However I have some questions about them, such as Firstly compile the project with the command under test module. Most of them are in status unconfirmed and several of them have subjects which indicate that they are critical. In order to support the developers it would be really great, if these issues could be reviewed: - check, if the issue can be reproduced -- status confirmed -- if not reproducible, ask for more information -- keyword needmoreinfo - check, if the issue is a duplicate -- resolve as duplicate - check, if the issue is a regression to a recent release - e.g. no defect in 4.0.0 or/and 4.0.1, but not in 4.1.0 -- adjust version field - give attention to issues which seem to be serious enough to be considered for the next release. Regression test AOOTest-620
Looking at this instructions seem confusing on the naming of the path (step 5): 5 Click Add button, select a path, named path1, OK The path1 is added to the list If there is bau file under the path1,the bau file will be added to Auto Text as Categories The path dialog doesnt allow any naming, only categories. If anyone else is doing AOOTest-620 and maybe clarify when I went wrong, I will appreciate it. -- Alexandro Colorado Apache OpenOffice Contributor 882C 4389 3C27 E8DF 41B9 5C4C 1DB7 9D1C 7F4C 2614 - To unsubscribe, e-mail: qa-unsubscr...@openoffice.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: qa-h...@openoffice.apache.org
