Hi all, My name is Neeraj. I am from INDIA, Kerala. I am a graduate in electronics and communication engineering. Currently doing a short term course in software testing. I am interested to contribute QA works in Apache OpenOffice. Thanks for adding me. I think i should start volunteering by reviewing incoming defect reports and attempting to "confirm" them. Re: New volunteer
Is fine, fortunately there are other users with access to OSX and is just important to understand how our QA system works so we can generate all the right tests. Thank you so much Alexandro. I've just set up two virtual instances having Windows, and Linux for installing the latest version of Open Office. However, I don't think I'll be able to have an osX virtual instance. Is it OK to just deal with Windows and Linux. Regards, Andrew. Re: [QA] - new volunteer assign defect reports
Hi Udi, What's your going on with selecting defects for verification? Can open the query OK? Or do you need me to select defects and assign them to you? Re: new volunteer
Thank, Park! I've assigned "Layout" panel to you in testlink. What you need to do is: 1. Log on to testlink: http://aootesting.adfinis-sygroup.org/index.php 2. Execute test cases as description step by step 3. Check the results whether is the same as the expection 4. Mark the result of the test case "Pass" or "Fail". If failed, create a bug in bugzilla You could download sample files from http://wiki.openoffice.org/wiki/Sidebar#QA For any issue, pls be free to contact me. Thanks! O.k., Yi Xuan, I've registered as "ipark". Again, my platform is Windows 7. I'm sort of new to this but sounds simple to follow with the "Step actions." I've added your account to the "qa-team" group in Bugzilla. So you now have permissions to modify bug reports, change their status, etc. We're working on several things right now. Yu Xian Liu mentioned the testing of the new Sidebar feature in 4.0. We could use more help there. Also, within Bugzilla, we need help in two areas: 1) Reviewing defect reports to see which can be confirmed 2) Reviewing new fixes to see which ones can be verified I'd recommend starting with the 4.0 Sidebar testing. -Rob > Thanks, > > I. Welcome Park :-) Currently, we are on AOO 4.0 testing trip. Sidebar is a new important feature in AOO 4.0. Are you interested in sidebar testing. If yes, could you please register an account in testlink ( http://aootesting.adfinis-sygroup.org/login.php?note=expired), where there lots of sidebar test cases. On Thu, Apr 4, 2013 at 1:32 AM, I. New volunteer to test pre-release versions of Apache OpenOffice 4.0. Win7 64, jre 7u13, +Linux if needed

Greetings QA group, I would like to volunteer for testing basic user activities on AOO 4.0 IF I can download an .iso version to install it. I will be testing on Win7 Home Prem 64, could also do various Linux flavors [beta versions or stable releases preferred?) if desired (Sabayon, Mepis, Kubuntu, oSUSE, Fedora). I am subscribed to the QA mailing list, been reading posts since 1 feb 13, have already read the 9 suggested intro pages. Think I created an account on bugzilla long ago (200x?) with another e-mail, maybe Rob can find my name there (?), or should I re-register for bug?? I tried to add myself to Volunteers (QA Testing Preferences) as intro reading indicated, but "+ Add; Page, Blog post, etc", seemed to be the incorrect way to go. Thought it would add a child page to the whole thing, not just me in alphabetical order by given name. I am non-traditional student starting first semester of Computer Technician-Networking (CSNT) @ Broome Community College in Binghamton NY, thus my logon name, CSNTbcc14. I have some formal training on MOS 2010; Word, Excel and will be needing to use both of those for work submission, IF OO does not meet BCC class requirements. Special email I am using just for this is provided by the MOS training organization Later on this summer I plan to become "MOS Specialist ... 2010 Certified" while continuing to test OO and write my own conversion guides for MOS users to adapt to OO use. We have a web page for you to carefully review. It describes the work we do in QA and describes some specific steps to take to get started. For example, it will ask you to subscribe to the QA mailing list and sign up for a Bugzilla account. So please read the material on this page: http://openoffice.apache.org/orientation/intro-qa.html It is also a good idea to review these pages, for more background about the project: http://openoffice.apache.org/orientation/intro-contributing.html http://openoffice.apache.org/orientation/how-aoo-project-works.html http://openoffice.apache.org/orientation/decision-making.html Once you are done with these, please add your information to the wiki page here: https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/OOOUSERS/QA+Testing+Preferences That will tell us what platforms you can test on, etc. Then I can assign you some user-submitted bug reports to review. Sounds good? If you have any questions, please send them to the mailing list here: qa@openoffice.apache.org Regards, -Rob > regars, > > Yurggent Alfredo
