Re: [Qgis-developer] html goodness in Map Composer
Hi Maning There is already a html item in the map composer of the dev version (also using webkit). You may select 'add html item' and drag a rectangle. Then you can select an html file or a web resource (it is even possible to display a web page on the composer). The item can have several frames and thus go over multiple pages. It should be working now. You might have to restart qgis after getting gradients with Color Ramp Manager. Re: [Qgis-developer] cpt-city
Hi, This should not happen with new users of the cpt-city ramps. Have you downloaded the new version of Color Ramp Manager? cpt-city file locations have changed, so you need to reset them in the color ramp manager. To get the "buitlin" ramps (a tiny selection for now), you need to select "Use gradients that ship with qgis" in the color ramp manager (this is default for new users). You also have the option of downloading a more complete selection, and also the full cpt-city package. [Qgis-developer] WMS: disclaimers and tiles
Hi all. Currently, WMS layers are printed by subdividing a single WMS request (ok for display on a video) into multiple tiles. This works very well, apparently better than in several proprietary systems. One problem, however, arises: if the server adds a disclaimer (copyright text, or similar) to each image produced, when the map is printed the text is replicated for each tile, thus giving an horrible result. I do not see an easy and foolproof way of avoiding this. A couple of approaches could be: - add a setting for overlaying adjacent tiles, so that one could choose how many pixels should be hidden by the left/right/top/bottom adjacent tile; a bad hack, and fails when labels are placed in the middle of the tile - add a proprietary extension to the server, i.e. "WMS series": the client could then ask the tiles as a series, and the labels could be applied to e.g. the first tile only; this would not solve the problem for other WMS backends. Any better strategy? Thanks for suggestions and thoughts. [Qgis-developer] QgsLegendInterface implementation works only on top level items
Hi all, I'm trying to read and write an xml file with an hierarchical set of groups and layer. So I've decided to write a python plugin that uses QgsLegendInterface but than I've discovered that QgsLegendInterface implementation is limited to top level legend items. a simple xml fragment like this: it is impossible to re-create inside qgis just because QgsLegendInterface.moveLayer only works with . The plugin should also be able to write an xml file starting from a qgis set of layer and groups. But this is also impossible because of the limited information handled by the QgsLegendInterface implementation. Someone could say that I can directly manage qgis project files (.qgs) but I've already done a lot of work to load layers and applaying the specified style. The goal for this plugin is to substitute a custom application for a commercial gis viewer and continue to use the same xml file as workset/project. For these reason I did the following pull request https://github.com/qgis/Quantum-GIS/pull/217 https://github.com/qgis/Quantum-GIS/pull/217 that solves the group indexing problem. Then I would like to add a groupLayerHierarchy method to obtain a true group<->layer relationship that will be very usefull to produce an output xml file. I'm looking forward to see some feedback/approvation before to go on with my project. Thanks everybody and best regards.
