Re: [QGIS-Developer] OSGEO QGIS 3.18.0 broken?
Yes apparently, I also just reinstalled it on a new Windows 10 and I get exactly the same error - Eduardo Rojas Rodríguez Analista en SIG SOLTIG Tel: (506) 2435-8868 / (506) 4001-5214 eduardo.ro...@soltig.net http://soltig.net -- Sent from: http://osgeo-org.1560.x6.nabble.com/QGIS-Developer-f4099106.html ___ QGIS-Developer mailing list QGIS-Developer@lists.osgeo.org List info: https://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/qgis-developer Unsubscribe: https://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/qgis-developer

[QGIS-Developer] Unable to create the bookmark
Hi Devs! I see you are really busy this days, sorry to bother :(, but I have encounter some problems with QGIS 3.4.13 in Windows 10 using the Standalone Installer. In some laptops running Windows 10 when I try to use the Spatial Bookmarks I get the error: *"Unable to create the bookmark. Driver: Database" * I have tried fresh install but does not fix the error, the weird thing is that I cannot replicate this in my work Laptop where I install QGIS using the Osgeo4W neither in my personal Desktop where I install QGIS with the Standalone Installer I don't have this problem. It seems Like its something specific of some PC maybe? I have see this problem 2 years ago but a Fresh install fix the problem, this time does not work. So I don't know what is causing that in some PCs the spatial bookmarks doesn't work. - Eduardo Rojas Rodríguez Analista en SIG SOLTIG Tel: (506) 2435-8868 / (506) 4001-5214 eduardo.ro...@soltig.net http://soltig.net -- Sent from: http://osgeo-org.1560.x6.nabble.com/QGIS-Developer-f4099106.html ___ QGIS-Developer mailing list QGIS-Developer@lists.osgeo.org List info: https://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/qgis-developer Unsubscribe: https://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/qgis-developer

[QGIS-Developer] Question QGIS and PROJ
Hi devs! Sorry Im a little out of the loop, (I was in vacations) I was under the impression that for QGIS 3.10 the Windows packages will be ship with PROJ 6. I understand that you can build QGIS with PROJ 6 now, but I was expecting to see PROJ 6 in QGIS 3.10 as default. Maybe Im completely lost but. When should we see PROJ 6 as default in QGIS? [QGIS-Developer] GDAL Coordinate System Barn Raising follow up
Hi all! I have been invited to the first Open Source Conference on GIS and Remote Sensing in Costa Rica, part of the Geo For All, since I have been a devout follower of PROJ, GDAL and QGIS. I think it is a great opportunity to explain the way in which coordinate reference systems are implemented and used in software such as QGIS that are used by end users that do not necessarily understand the complexity of such developments. I want to promote the initiative "/GDAL Coordinate System Barn Raising/" because in Costa Rica has recently been a change of CRS - from CRTM05 (EPSG 5367) to CR-SIRGAS (EPSG 8909) - this is a hot topic at this moment. I want to be able to explain how is the development and implementation of the CRS and how they arrive at softwares like QGIS that are used by end users with different skill levels. I've been talking to Even Rouault from PROJ about the new GDAL Coordinate System Barn Raising and how this affects the final users of softwares like QGIS and PostgreSQL / PostGIS. for QGIS users, I have the following: Even told me: "/From what I've understood, PostGIS will still ship its spatial_ref_sys.sql database (since it is part of its user visible surface), and will so have to refresh it regularly from the PROJ database. For QGIS, I think the intent will be to use ultimately the PROJ database/" "/...Will require all QGIS builds to use PROJ 6/" Now this, makes me the following question: if PROJ already contains the new CRS CR-SIRGAS (8909) according to this commit https://github.com/OSGeo/proj.4/pull/1368. QGIS would have to implement the new PROJ6 so that users here in CR can have access to the new CRS. however, this I suppose, is planned for the version QGIS 3.8 What generates me doubt is how is it going to be handled with the QGIS LTR version? in other words, how QGIS will handle the updates of the new coordinate reference systems? Is a new version required each time? or can they be updated by a pointreleases? I think many countries are on track to continue updating the CRS and I want to know how QGIS is going to be maintained with the most up-to-date EPSG databases. this in order to be able to explain to the users of QGIS here in CR how it is expected to implement the update of the new CR-SIRGAS (8909) Since many governmental institutions currently use QGIS for their daily processes. Thank you very much for the help in this topic. - Eduardo Rojas Rodríguez Analista en SIG SOLTIG Tel: (506) 2435-8868 / (506) 4001-5214 eduardo.ro...@soltig.net http://soltig.net -- Sent from: http://osgeo-org.1560.x6.nabble.com/QGIS-Developer-f4099106.html ___ QGIS-Developer mailing list QGIS-Developer@lists.osgeo.org List info: https://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/qgis-developer Unsubscribe: https://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/qgis-developer
[QGIS-Developer] Problem: QGIS Reproject layer Transformation of Lambert North and South Costa Rica to CRTM05
Hi everyone! Before creating a ticket in QGIS Issue Tracking, I wanted to consult you a few things to be the most effective for when creating the ticket and to carry all the necessary information. I wanted to ask who maintains the algorithm "Reproject layer" of QGIS provider which transformation method is used? We have detected that in QGIS the transformation of vector layers from the Coordinate System Lambert North or South for Costa Rica (obsolete official projection of Costa Rica) to the current Official Projection that is CRTM05 has a transformation problem. *the problem:* is when use the "Reproyect Layer" to reproject a vector layer that is in the coordinate system "Lambert North or South for Costa Rica" to the coordinate system "CRTM05" a mismatches occurs from 8 meters up to 100 o 300 meters when the process is performed using the "Reproject layer" algorithm of the QGIS provider in the processing toolbox. We believe that this is because there is a problem with the Datum transfer since Lambert North or South for Costa Rica is Local "Ocotepeque Clarke 1866" while CRTM05 is global "WGS84" for that reason we found necessary to know how the trasnformation is programmed in QGIS for the Reproject Layer algorithm. for the transformation we need to know if it is using the matrix of "Molodensky Badekas" of 3 or 7 parameters, the ideal is that it is carried out using the one of 7 parameters. We have the necessary parameters For the matrix of 7 parameters which are: Parameters of transformation using the Molodensky Badekas matrix of 7 parameters for reproject CRS: Ocotepeque 1935 / Lambert Costa Rica South EPSG:5457 and Ocotepeque 1935 / Lambert Costa Rica North EPSG:5456 to CRTM05 EPSG:5367 PAR_X_AXIS_TRANSLATION, (-)213.116 PE_PAR_Y_AXIS_TRANSLATION, (-)9.358 PE_PAR_Z_AXIS_TRANSLATION, (+)74.946 PE_PAR_X_AXIS_ROTATION, (-)2.351418791 (Is enough with 4 decimals) PE_PAR_Y_AXIS_ROTATION, (+)6.1466912E-02(Is enough with 4 decimals) PE_PAR_Z_AXIS_ROTATION, (-)6.394208994(Is enough with 4 decimals) PE_PAR_SCALE_DIFFERENCE, (+)5.22 PE_PAR_X_COORD_OF_ROTATION_ORIGIN (BARICENTRO),617749.7118 PE_PAR_Y_COORD_OF_ROTATION_ORIGIN (BARICENTRO),-6250547.7336 PE_PAR_Z_COORD_OF_ROTATION_ORIGIN (BARICENTRO),1102063.6099 These are the parameters for the transformation. This will be enough to create the ticket in the QGIS Issue Tracking? Or will more information be needed? Or explain the problem better?
