Re: [Qgis-developer] next Hackfest: Vienna
Hi Luigi, strange, they responded promptly before. Please let me know if you don't get an answer in reasonable time. I'll call then to check. cu Stephan On 01/24/2014 04:07 PM, Gino Pirelli wrote: I wrote to Kindl Hotel (as suggested in the wiki) but no answer :( I can share or I want to share double room. ciao Luigi Pirelli On 24 January 2014 10:58, Andreas Neumann a.neum...@carto.net mailto:a.neum...@carto.net wrote: will also try to book a the Kindl. Re: [Qgis-developer] Spring Hackfest
Matthias, all, the venue sponsor of the Vienna code sprint, the city of Vienna, offered already to extend the space to also suit the QGis community. So no worries about the mentioned 30 spaces limit. I think it would be great to have a joint code sprint and I'm looking forward to welcome you all in Vienna in March ;) cu Stephan On 11/25/2013 10:25 AM, Matthias Kuhn wrote: Hi Alex, Thank you for pointing out, I wasn't aware. So it seems, that the majority of people who commented so far were in favor of Vienna. I would love to go to Spain, but the c-tribe sprint in Vienna sounds like a good reason to go there as well. One thing to consider is, that the c-tribe sprint offers space for 30 people, and 23 places are already taken according to the wiki page. Anyway, we should start to organize this, so the participants and the organizers can keep the dates free and start with preparations. Does anybody have an idea where the next hackfest could be and probably even started to organize something? I remember, there were a couple of ideas around, but I am not sure, if any of these was further examined. I would very much like to go to a place somewhere in the south of Europe (e.g. Italy, Portugal and Spain coming to my mind) as we have good chances to already find warmer temperatures there than north of the Alps. At the end of March, there is the Spanish FOSS4G in Girona, near Barcelona [1]. Although this is not a conference where everybody will be going, it might be interesting for some and a possibility to combine the two events. Victor has a contact in Girona who could be helpful in the organization of such an event. Are there other ideas or comments around?
