Re: [Qgis-user] Corporate Users

This looks interesting
http://gis.stackexchange.com/questions/186624/deploying-qgis-settings-in-an-enterprise-environment?noredirect=1=1

I also saw some posts on how to install qgis in a school setting in Norway or
Denmark (it's vague). I can't find the site. Does anyone know what I am
referring to? This was a school with a number of computers and the post
explained the deployment...

I am using QGIS in a single stand-alone situation and I was wondering what
examples there are of medium to large corporations using QGIS as their GIS
platform and what issues you need to be aware of in large multi-user QGIS

[Qgis-user] Selection to child table

2016-11-03 Per discussione Carlos López PSIG
Hello,
I would like to move the selection from one table to the child table in a
one to many relationship.

I have defined this relationship in the project properties.

You know if there are any plugin or QGIS functionality that allows me to do
this?

Thanks in advance.

All the best,

[Qgis-user] Cannot run gdal_translate with -projwin

2016-11-03 Per discussione David Gofman
Hi,
I downloaded FAA charts
https://www.faa.gov/air_traffic/flight_info/aeronav/digital_products/ifr/
When I am adding as Raster layer the background comes black (must be
transparent)

Now when I am trying using Raster->Extraction->Clipper on the end I am
getting an error:

ERROR 1: The -projwin option was used, but the geotransform is
rotated. This configuration is not supported.

What's wrong with those files?

Thanks,

2016-11-03 Per discussione Nicolas Cadieux
Hi,

Yours rasters are to big. They are working on this issus for the 3.0 release.
You can use the grass calculator or the gdal cal calculators found in the
processing tools. Use any version. Unfortunately, they are stricter in terms
of what you can do. (Same, size raster, same pixel size...). Saga has a
raster calculator but you may need lots of memory for that one.

The gdal raster calculator is fast.

Salve a tutti, prima di aprire un ticket chiedo conferma su quanto in
oggetto: (allego shp 3D)

GFOSS.it entro la conferenza ASITA 2016 a Cagliari.

http://tinyurl.com/gfoss-asita2016

Re: [Qgis-user] New release -2.18 - Polar projection graticules

2016-11-03 Per discussione Andreas Neumann

Hi Lester,

Things don't "magically" improve in QGIS without any efforts.

Nyall Dawson wrote two nice blog posts on how to effectively get things
done/improved in QGIS:

http://nyalldawson.net/2016/08/how-to-effectively-get-things-changed-in-qgis/

and

http://nyalldawson.net/2016/08/how-to-effectively-get-things-changed-in-qgis-a-follow-up/

I think they are a really good summary on what you could do to get this
issue fixed.

Hello,

Just thought I would see if the new version has improved (fixed) the
issue with graticules in map composer for Polar projections.

The latitude lines would be visible straightline segments (very
obvious) and longitide lines would be missing in places.

Posted about this issue a while back, so wanted to check and see if
any changes have been done in this respect (quite important for Polar
mapping!).

Thanks

Gam;
I discovered some of what you said last night, I also installed 3 or 4
other CAD like tools adons as well as Survey Calculator. Last AutoCAD
training I had was 2008 and I never used it in a production environment but
I still understand some of the concepts. The person I am trying to set this
up for is a drafting tech familiar with AutoCAD so this might work well for
him.
Anyway I will try your direction distance and distance along path work
flows and see what happens.

I do not have Sierra but QGIS 2.16 can read ecw files following Kyngchaos
guidelines pn El Capitan.

Re: [QGIS-it-user] Rotazione raster

2016-11-03 Per discussione Stefano Campus
allora devi agire sul world file.

personalmente mantiene la quota originaria);

[Qgis-user] 161103 - ecw support for QGIS 2.16 on Mac OS Sierra.

2016-11-03 Per discussione Paul T A Drea

All,

I am running macOS Sierra v10.12.1 on a MacBook Pro.

I have been running the stand alone installation of QGIS 2.14.3 with ecw
support successfully in the past.

I downloaded and installed QGIS 2.16.3 from www.kyngchaos.com with all
the associated packages. This has GDAL 2.1

I also downloaded ERDAS ECW/JP2 SDK v 5.2.1 and copied the file
libNCSEcw.dylib to the following location as instructed:

Library/Application Support/GDAL/1.11/Libraries/libNCSEwc.dylib

On starting QGIS and loading a project with an ecw image I get a message
informing me that the image is not a supported raster type.

Unfortunately I am not a programmer just an end user. There are 6 of us
on a mix of Windows, Linux and Mac OS systems using QGIS.

This problem only seems to affect Mac users after upgrading to QGIS 2.16.x.

I am obviously missing something here, can anyone help please.

Thanks in advance and BR.

Thanks for the pointer Nathan. I did raise the issue earlier, so not
sure if that was taken on board.

Re: [Qgis-user] set layer not editable

2016-11-03 Per discussione Matthias Kuhn
I think there was a method QgsVectorLayer.setReadOnly exposed to python
before.
You could try to use that. I'm not sure what it did exactly before 2.16,
I did a lot of changes for QGIS 2.16 to integrate this flag properly in
the user interface. And I'm not even sure if it was saved in the project
file or only saved within one QGIS session.

2016-11-03 Per discussione Nathan Woodrow
Hey Lester,

After the release is a bad time to be checking. If a feature is important
to you it's best to get the dev versions early and test before release.
After the release you have to wait for a patch if there ever is one.

Re: [QGIS-it-user] QGIS 2.18 - Anomalie in "Suggerimenti mappa"

testo compariva in carattere Arial su fondo giallo tipo Post-it (ora invece
schermo.
A dopo.

Thanks Mathias.

Because we had a plugin for 2.8 , we could not change to QGIS 2.16 or
higher.

Is there any possibility to set a layer not editable for a qgis (2.8.9)
Project?
