Betreff: [Qgis-user] spatial-temporal data vizualization

Hi,

I am interested at plugins for visualization of spatial temporal data. I found

TimeManager
Temporal/Spectral Profile Tool
Multitemporal and Multivariate data visualisation (only available for QGIS 1.x)

None of them fully meet basic requirements:

1) map canvas + graph view (scatterplot)
2) time slider allowing to define monitoring period (from to)

Map canvas + graph view linked to spatial-temporal dataset (eg. TGRASS [1]).

Are there any other related plugins available?

Thanks, Martin

[Qgis-user] MSSQL Spatial vector features not showing up in QGIS 2.18 up

2017-10-23 Per discussione Diego Sartori
I'm importing a MSSQL 2008 Spatial layer in QGIS. In version 2.14 it works
OK, I can see the vector features and interact with the associated
attribute tables. But in versions 2.18 and 2.99, though the connection is
OK (I can see the attribute tables), the features are not showing up in the
map canvas. I can even modify the data in the tables but I can't
graphically select the features for editing.
I'm using a Windows 10 PC. The 3 versions of QGIS are runnig in the same
machine, at the same time, with the same configuration. I've tried with the
standalone installer and with the OSGEO4W installer (32 bit).
¿Anything changed from version 2.14 to newer versions that I can't get the
features drawn on the map in version 2.18.13 and 2.99.0?
Sorry but I'm new to posting here. I'd like to add some screen captures,
¿how should I poceed?

[Qgis-user] How to create a spatial view with spatialite-gui?

2017-10-23 Per discussione Bernd Vogelgesang

Hi,

I am trying to create a spatial view in spatialite-gui.
The not funny thing is: It doesn't work.

For you to test:
Just import a layer from QGIS into a spatialite database.
Connect to the database in spatialite-gui.
Right-click on the DB and start the "Query/View Composer"

Tab Main:
Select your layer in "Main Table" an mark all displayed columns.
Tab View:
Just skip tother tabs and simply replicate you layer as a spatial view by
selecting "Create Spatial View"[could be used as a GIS Layer".
The input to select the geometry column (in my case "geom", which was also
selected in the Main Tab) get active, so select it.

Give a name to your new view, and the SQL statement should be ready by now.

Click OK.

Result:
The created view lacks all spatial stuff and imports into QGIS as a dumb
table.

I remember having tried this years ago already, searching the web high and
low for answers, but it hard to find a lot about spaialite at all.

Is this all a bug or just a feature or am I just too stupid to see the
obvious?

Any hints and references to useful documtes highly appreciated!

Cheers,
Bernd

Yep, that one I also wanted to tell about.

I'm also very much interested in this topic given we are moving to QGIS3...

I'm brainwaving about having 'time' a first time citizen in QGIS.

For example:
- make MapLayer's time aware (depending on providers), by standardizing
on a certain DateTime-format (UTC-timestamps, or QtDateTime's?) or 2 per
feature: from/to) which maybe could be stored in parallel of the real
data (AND get an index there), maybe in a geopackage?
- having some 'Time'-event, one which those TimeLayers get filtered (as
fast as possible)
- maybe have a small reusable time-widget (with 2 handles) which could
be used as filterwidget in the legend (for individual layers AND groups)
too?

I think choosing for some default for graph view's would be perfect too:
preferably usable for both cpp + python.

Though not able to do or pay, I hope by blowing a little that we can
make 'Time' flying a liitle higher in QGIS...

Regards,

Richard Duivenvoorde

[Qgis-user] Map tips: Show photos with HTML

2017-10-23 Per discussione Bernd Vogelgesang

Hi,
I found several topics on the web how to display photos in a Map Tip of a
layer, but all seem to have stopped working.
My attributes hold the absolut path to the image, I enclose them with the
necessary tags, but no images show up, whatever I try.

I remember that this worked a while ago. At least in recent QGIS 2.18.13,
not a single method seems to work anymore.

Does anyone know what is going on there?

Cheers
Bernd

[Qgis-user] Problems with maximum(value) with graphical modeler

Dear colleagues

I'm trying to use the mximum (value) function in the graph modeler to
normalize values between 5 and 1, but it gives me error, both using
fieldcalculator and advance python field calculator. The idea is to create
a new field to a layer and apply the following formula:

CASE WHEN 6 - "_ sum" / maximum ("_sum") * 5> 5 THEN 5 ELSE 6 - "_ sum" /
maximum ("_sum") * 5 END

Return the following error:
