[Qgis-user] QGIS and PostGIS, dimensions problems

2020-02-13 Per discussione Jakob Götesson
Hello everyone!

I have a point-layer in Postgis v12 which is ST_pointZ according to PostGIS.

When creating a new point in QGIS and then tries to save it, I get an error:

" Column has Z dimension but geometry does not"

When looking in to the object identifier the derived attributes only contains X
and Y. However, the rest of the points that loads from the database has a
Z-value set to 0 attached to them. So i get that my created point dosen´t have
a Z-value.

Isn't it possible to create new data in 3 dimensional tables from Postgis in
QGIS? Even with a deafult value of 0, I don´t even need to specify the Z-value
at this moment.

(Found a work around but I prefer not to use this:
If I save the QGIS-project and open the .qgs-file in text editor and look into
the datasource-tag for the the layer I have:

type=Point

When changing this to:

type=PointZ

saves the project and try to create a new object, it works fine.)

ciao,

usando come valori x e poi y.

Re: [Qgis-user] raster layer and vector layer ---> create 3D view from it

2020-02-13 Per discussione Saber Razmjooei
Hi Larissa,

hmmm, the SRTM is not going to give a proper indication of elevation when
used in conjunction with buildings. The SRTM is very coarse dataset and it
will probably be flat for your extent. Have you considered having seperate
sections for 3d data visualisations, each with its own dataset. One section
could be vectors (there is quite a bit to cover there: points as 3d models,
3d lines and buildings), rasters (to cover terrain and probably mesh) and
another for creating animations and fly-overs.

I am available most of next week. Feel free to drop me an email
off-the-list and happy to show you in a webconferencing session how to use
those features.

Many thanks,
Saber

Re: [Qgis-user] SVG files in QGIS print layout

2020-02-13 Per discussione Andreas Neumann
Hi Doug,

Can you share your SVG file? I'd like to have a look at it. Inkscape
sometimes does peculiar things to SVG text elements (like adding complex
matrices where they aren't really necessary). That might lead to issues
with QGIS, because QGIS doesn't support the full SVG profile, but only
the SVG tiny part of the specification.

Inkscape also offers several different optimizations when saving to
different SVG versions. One might be better suitable for QGIS than the
other. But I'd need to see your file first to give recommendations.

Unfortunately, you are limited to the SVG tiny profile when importing
SVG into QGIS. QGIS relies on the QT library for SVG support and QT only
supports SVG Tiny (and from this specification only the static part).
See https://www.w3.org/TR/SVGTiny12/

There is nothing easy we can do to improve the situation. The solution
would be to improve the qt library first to also render more than SVG
tiny, more features from the full profile that Inkscape normally
produces. This would require financial investments into the QT library
and also patience, until this ends up in QGIS, because it would then
require a newer qt version.

Greetings,

Andreas

Cioa,
ora è tutto più chiaro.

in questo percorso dovresti trovare il file
C:\Users\nomeutente\AppData\Roaming\QGIS\QGIS3\profiles\default\QGIS

nuovo dovresti risolvere

[Qgis-user] raster layer and vector layer ---> create 3D view from it

2020-02-13 Per discussione Larissa Junek

Hello Saber,

in the meantime I used New York 3D data to check out the 3D view tool.
Using the hints of your blog I'm having

 * a Buildings_3D_Multipatch layer from a
   DA10_3D_Buildings_Multipatch.gdb (vector layer)
 * SRTM data N40W074.hgt (raster layer)

now.

Next steps:

 * the srtm data in the 3D view tool: Type = DEM (raster layer) ,
   Elevation = N40W074
 * single symbol setting in the 3D view properties of
   Buildings_3D_Multipatch

Using SRTM data this way doesn't help to depict the vectors in 3D (I
thought the srtm data have the function of a master). Do I have to
convert file formats?
I'm using QGIS 3.10.2 and win10.

Cheers, Larissa

You can have multiple versions installed with the OSGEO4W installation,

[Qgis-user] Scalebar issues on QGIS 3.10.2

2020-02-13 Per discussione David Addy
I am making maps using OSGB36 which is 27700 CRS. My issue comes when I use
the Print Layout option.
In one case the Print Layout simply did not draw a scalebar, but left a pair
of dotted lines on the layout. So I left it out.
In another case the scalebar was drawn but the scale of kilometres was
apparently ten times what I expected. Where I expected a box showing 10 and
20 km, it gave 100 and 200 km.
I use the Windows 10 pre-built package and except for this issue QGIS
3.10.2 latest version works very well for me. I also use the latest OS
transformation as recommended by the system, which I had to download. I
wonder if this transform, which is said to be accurate to 1 metre (compared
to the old transform of 2 to 4 metre accuracy) is causing this issue.
Anybody else run into this, or have any suggestions or comments?

Ciao,

https://github.com/pigreco/QGIS_portable_3x#portable-7z

/OSGeo4W/bin

[QGIS-it-user] Menu bar QGIS 3.10.2

2020-02-13 Per discussione Franco Cazzola
Buongiorno

sicuramente hai installato male qualcosa.

saluti

Re: [Qgis-user] Make selected features dominant in view

2020-02-13 Per discussione SEGGIE Graeme
Brilliant, thanks Richard - that works perfectly. As you say would be good if
was default, but not too onerous and perhaps speeds up rendering to not have it
doing so for every layer etc.

Graeme.

Hi Graeme,

I do not know an answer, but I checked and it's not that selected items always
would end up on top...

This sounds very reasonable though... and helpfull :-) If it is not already
there, it would make a nice Feature Request!

There is in the Layer Properties/Symbology/Layer Rendering an option to
'Control feature rendering order' ...
Ok, so you can make an an expression like:

 is_selected( $currentfeature )

which then makes your selected features draw last (on top).
You could at least try that.
I'm wondering if that would/could not be default painting behaviour?

Regards,

Richard Duivenvoorde

[QGIS-it-user] mappa con informazioni lat e lon

2020-02-13 Per discussione Giacomo Fontanelli
Salve
longitudine.

La mappa è molto grande quindi eviterei vettorializzazioni e
rasterizzazioni. Esiste una soluzione utilizzando il raster calculator?

Grazie

[Qgis-user] Uninstall NOOSA

2020-02-13 Per discussione Mark Page

Hi,

I've upgraded to A Coruna, and now I want to unistall Noosa.

I'm Windows 10 64 bit.

Trouble is it's not in C:\Program files\ etc, and therefore doesn't show
up in add/remove programs. I've downloaded "Advanced uninstaller" and it
doesn't find it either.

There is a file on my C:\OSGeo4W64 which seems to be where it might be.

Any thoughts anyone?

Cheers
