[Qgis-user] Qgis 3.4.4 doesn't launch

Max OSX 10.14 - Just installed the new 3.4.4 and it will not launch. When
trying to launch via terminal 
/Applications/QGIS3.app/Contents/MacOS/QGIS&
I get the error 

 dyld: Library not loaded:
/Library/Frameworks/GEOS.framework/Versions/3/GEOS

Had 3.4.4 running just fine, but this upgrade won't start. Does anyone have
a suggestion on how to fix?

Hi All just installed 3.4 on a clean machine. On launch I'm getting the error

Couldn't load plugin 'MetaSearch' due to an error when calling its
classFactory() method 

Any idea how to fix this?

Fast track to 2018 and I'm seeing this same problem in V 3.41. Was there ever
a resolution to the problem??

The /Volumes trick in the add layer dialogue works, but not when trying to
access grass workspaces. I was able to add a sym link to my Home (which is
browsable) and that works as a temporary fix.

[Qgis-user] Slow open and save dialogues in OSX Mojave

Hi All - hoping someone has a solution.

I'm getting some strange behavior of QGIS 3.2.3 (but has been the same for
all 3.X versions). Opening the app, and within the app opening save and file
open dialogues is EXTREMELY slow and freezes the computer completely until
the dialogue process completes. 

Looking at console output I see only this error for QGIS - listed
repeatedly.

error   10:01:45.985035 -0700   QGISnw_path_close_fd Failed to close guarded
necp fd 23 [9: Bad file descriptor]

Has anyone see this ... or have an idea how to fix it?

I saw this note on the KyngChaos main page - the last line indicates to me
that William is looking into it

QGIS 3.0.0-3
QGIS 3.0.0-3 should fix the non-working GRASS problem. The key was my adding
the "3" to the app name with a space, the GRASS internals didn't like that.
So I removed the space - it's now QGIS3.app. The installer removes the
contents of the original QGIS 3.app, but not the app folder itself, so you
need to delete that from your Applications folder.

It also looks like the rebuild fixed the missing SAGA processing tools.

On to figuring out why GDAL tools do not work…

Well I have to go and find north arrows if I want them in my print layout.
But when I'm just viewing them in my map they are available under
"decorations". It would be great if I could access the "decorations" in the
print layout - since they already exist somewhere within the app.

Update Looks like if I open the mapset and then use it within grass under the
modules it runs fine. Seems to be an issue with the QGIS/Grass plugin
interface.

I noticed in the project view I can add a scale bar, and north arrow as
"decorations" - but no legend is available. In the layout I can add legends
and scale bars, but no north arrow is available. Pretty sure I'm missing
something somewhere???

Looks like it was the matplotlib that the plugin wanted and it just
complained about both dependencies. Dug in to the readme and numpy is
included in the install via pip. Per instructions in the readme I was able
to load matplotlib using 

sudo -H pip3 install matplotlib

in the terminal. 

Plugin loaded and all is well. Full speed ahead

Got an error loading a plugin for the new QGIS3 binary from KyngChaos. 

Seems to be missing numpy, and matplotlib. These used to come with the
binaries. Any recommendation on where to get packages for these for Python3?

problem. I rolled back to QGIS 2.14 and saga is back. Any ideas on what

Under the properties for the layer choose "style". In the drop down at the
top choose "rule based". Add rules using the + sign at the bottom of the
white box. When you chose filter edit using ... and a field calculation
dialogue will pop up, build a formula using fields and values, select your
field "Check" , and create the expression "Check" = 1 (or whatever your
value is), create a second rule with different symbology for nulls using
"Check" IS NULL.

[Qgis-user] R not configured osx?

I've seen others with this problem, and tried a few solutions modifying paths
etc, but I can't get R to work in QGIS.

I get the following error :
This algorithm cannot be run :-( 
This algorithm requires R to be run. Unfortunately it seems that R is not
installed in your system or it is not correctly configured to be used from
QGIS
Click here to know more about how to install and configure R to be used with
QGIS

I'm running OSX 10.12.6 and QGIS 2.18.9

R is installed and running well  in /usr/local/bin/R

Any ideas how to get this running?

I think I found the issue and resolved it.

The grass plugin options were listing 


I reset it to the internal grass 7 build using the following path
/Applications/QGIS.app/Contents/MacOS/grass7

Replacing 
/Users/Shared/unix/grass-qgis-mtlion/grass-7.0.4

All is well now

In the plugin options for grass I see a reference to
/Users/Shared/unix/grass-qgis-mtlion/grass-7.0.4 and a message that the
selected GRASS installation is not valid

I pointed this to my installation

/Applications/GRASS-7.0.app/Contents/MacOS/grass70

but it still shows not valid.

Wondering if you have noticed this, or have any tips on how to fix?

I'm having the same problem using Qgis 2.14.2, and osx with gdal 1.11 and the
filegdb plugin also 1.11 installed form Kyngchaos server, and the esri
libraries installed per the instructions.

Checking OGR via command line I get

MacBook-Pro-2:DCP_Ecosystems knussear$ ogrinfo DCP_Ecosystems.gdb
INFO: Open of `DCP_Ecosystems.gdb'
  using driver `FileGDB' successful.
MacBook-Pro-2:DCP_Ecosystems knussear$ 

and opening in qgis gives me a red bar invalid source error using either the
open GDB or fileGDB choice. Anyone have any advice on how to solve this?

I'm having the same problem with the regular release. I switched to nightly
ubuntu as recommended above, removed and reinstalled qgis, python-qgis and
qgis-plugin-grass

When I run 2.12.3 there is no grass plugin present under the plugin manager
at all... Yet it would appear that the install went OK? Can anyone help?

[Qgis-user] Grass 7 plugin osx?

I'm having trouble with QGIS for max OS X. The grass plugin included in the
latest 2.12 is for grass 6, but  I've been using grass7, and qgis in linux
with my grass locations which works fine. Does anyone know of a source for
Qgis with the new plugin?

Ah yes I can see the grass6 plugin is installed. Is there a different
repository where I can get the grass 7 plugin?

It says ": topology version 7"
Opens in Grass just fine. I have tried v.build and then it will display, but
it frequently crashes QGIS to do so.

[Qgis-user] Grass 7 vectors via browser?

Just noticed that grass is back in QGIS 2.12 and I can browse and open grass
7 mapsets. Super happy about that. I see errors on my grass 7 vectors
though. is there a way to use vector layers? or is this not yet implemented
in the new plugin?
