[Qgis-user] Enhancement Requests: Field Support in Print Composet and Enhanced Map Tips
Hi QGIS Developers and Users, I just added two enhancement requests: Enhanced Map Tips through Macro Language/Operators (https://trac.osgeo.org/qgis/ticket/1386) and Field Support for Print Composer (https://trac.osgeo.org/qgis/ticket/1385) I would like others to comment if these features would be useful and how they could be implemented. I assigned the latter to Marco Hugentobler, since he is working on the print composer. [Qgis-user] Raster API update - hold of on modifying your project files
Howdy everyone, Tim has made some additional suggestions to the Raster API updates that I will try to get committed to the trunk in the next 24 hours. So you are best to wait another day or two before trying to update your project files. -pete -- Peter J. [Qgis-user] Change of selected layer
Hi I currently try to programm a phyton plugin. Now I have to take some action if the layer in the legend changes, i.e the the current layer changes. I found the signal selectionChanged (QgsMapLayer *layer) of the QgsMapCanvas class and guessed, this might do the trick, but the docs says only Emit map tool changed event which it also says for the mapToolSet (QgsMapTool *tool). So theres some typo or something. My questions: Is the selectionChanged signal emited when the user changes his selection in the legend? If yes, how do I get it? I tried it with QObject.connect(self.iface.mapCanvas(), SIGNAL(selectionChanged (QgsMapLayer *layer)), self.test) in the initGui() but didn't succeed. Is there another way that my plugin gets informed if the current/selected layer changes? Thanks for any advice and best regards Cédric mit freundlichen Grüssen Cédric Möri GIS-Informatiker -- Kanton Solothurn Bau- und Justizdepartement Amt für Geoinformation Rötistrasse 4 4501 Solothurn Telefon +41 (0)32 627 24 75 Telefax +41 (0)32 627 22 14 mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.agi.so.ch ___ Qgis-user mailing list Qgis-user@lists.osgeo.org http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/qgis-user

I could be reading that wrong though... C ___ Qgis-user mailing list Qgis-user@lists.osgeo.org http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/qgis-user
[Qgis-user] Enhancement Requests: Enhanced Map Tips
I comment on the one on Enhanced Map Tips. I actually would add the ability of drawing a simple plot, for example to display reflectance values across bands or time series of vegetation index a la Envi. Not sure if this should be a different ticket. BTW, priority minor: annoyance or enhancement should not be split in two different categories? I mean that an enhancement could not be of minor priority, and certainly not similar to a minor annoyance. Re: [Qgis-user] Enhancement Requests: Enhanced Map Tips
Hi Augustin, Thank you for commenting on the Map Tips enhancement proposal. I guess your proposal deserves a separate enhancement request because it may be too different. But depending how the QGIS developers are trying to solve the map tips enhancement problem (if they do at all), it may be possible to use the solution as a base to solve your request further on, too. I mean that an enhancement could not be of minor priority, and certainly not similar to a minor annoyance. Historically we had many more priority levels but the problem is then people dont know how to choose between them and the data contained in that field essentially becomes meaningless. In essence an enhancement or annoyance priority should be used for cases where the functionality of QGIS isn't critically impaired (e.g. crashing / corrupting data / showing incorrect results) but could be improved in some way. I believe that is a good fit for this ticket. 8-snip- Regards -- Tim Sutton - QGIS Project Steering Committee Member (Release Manager) == Visit http://linfiniti.com to find out about: * QGIS programming services * Mapserver and PostGIS based hosting plans * FOSS Consulting Support Services Skype: timlinux Irc: timlinux on #qgis at freenode.net == signature.asc Description: This is a digitally signed message part ___ Qgis-user mailing list Qgis-user@lists.osgeo.org http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/qgis-user
