Hi Never fear, the zoom to point plugin will be back in the official QGIS repository once we have API frozen. [Qgis-user] zoom to point/edit point coordinates
Is it possible to enter X,Y coordinates and zoom to that point? Is it possible to edit a vector layer by entering/modifying the coordinates of a point? Re: [Qgis-user] QGIS and ECW and MrSid formats
Micha, As for GDAL, I'd expect you will want to add the support for ECW and MrSID directly thru GDAL, not as some separate image support library. Yes, correct. Marco ___ Qgis-user mailing list Qgis-user@lists.osgeo.org http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/qgis-user

Hi all. I have finished the first run of cleanups. Only part of it went into preview 2, so you'll need a fresh install from svn. Please test it and let me know your suggestions. All the best. Re: [Qgis-user] QGIS and ECW and MrSid formats
Hi Marco: Marco Pasetti wrote: Hi Martin, In MrSID and ECW licenses they let developers to distribute software with MrSID/ECW libraries in binary form, so I don't see any legal problem here. Well, good to hear. The binary redistribution is in fact the key for me. That because in MS-Windows we can't build applications with some dependencies/libraries enabled and then redistribute the application binaries without those libraries bundled (that is consider them as optional features, to be separately downloaded and installed by users): if built with that libraries enabled, the application binaries will never work if some DLL (the optional features) is missing. If these are the facts, in my future development list I'll defitely add MrSID and ECW support compiling. Just a question: do we need those supports also in GDAL necessarily? That's very good news. It will be a significant boost to the QGIS feature list. As for GDAL, I'd expect you will want to add the support for ECW and MrSID directly thru GDAL, not as some separate image support library. Or maybe I don't understand something? In any case, GDAL offers its own toolbox which is useful outside of QGIS, and it would be best, in my opinion to have ECW and MrSID support "right at the base".
