That's very likely. See this thread from a few months back, it might help.

The joined columns may be text only and not numeric (possibly a bug). A
work around is to add a new calculated column with the data you want,
that way you can specify it's type as numeric.

I think it would be good to if we can download and try QGIS 1.7.2 Mac OS X.

It seems that it is not yet available in your site.

Looking forward to see Georeference (C++) working in OS X.

Re: [Qgis-user] No password for QGIS HUB

2011-11-21 Thread Rhys A.D. Stewart
Hey,

Yeah man, already confirmed that I can login to other osgeo sites with
my userid.
So here is where its at:
on hub.qgis.org when I tried rhys it gave me the option to register that userid.
Did that with my email address and it said that the email was already
registered.
Found out that "rhys-stewart-gmail-com -" was the userid under which
my previous issues were recorded under.
went ahead with the hub registration of the userid "rhys" with a
slightly different email. (in gmail you can use a "." to create
different email addresses but they all go to the same inbox eg
rhys.ste.w...@gmail.com)

So i changed my password on osgeo.org and it changed my password on
hub.qgis.org.

So I guess technically I'm ok in that I can now log bugs/wishes etc.
It would be cool though if I could just reconcile everything back to
the rhys userID, i.e all the bugs/issues from the
"rhys-stewart-gmail-com -" userid...but there were only like 3 or 4
bugs/issues/fixes anyway, so I guess it'd be a lot to ask.

Thanks!!

Rhys

[Qgis-user] Re: Can't load PostGIS views

2011-11-21 Thread Mathieu Ouellette
Thank you Noli and Regis! Those are great ways to solve this problem.

Well I finally manage to load the views by doing the folowing steps:

1 - In the base table, I defined the unique constraint directly on the
column (ex: my_column_id serail UNIQUE NOT NULL) instead of a table
constraint (ex: UNIQUE (my_column_id)).

2 - In the views, I had to remove the alias for the id column.

Tried and confirmed.

Indeed splitting this ONE (selfcrossing) line using the 'advanced
editing tools' / Split Features on ONE point results in 15 (!) parts??

@Giovanni: this should work isn't it? This has nothing to do with
topological editing?

I would say: please file a ticket, including your test file:

I believe that the plugin doesn't support at all topological editing

cheers

[Qgis-user] problem with free hand plugin and topological editing

2011-11-21 Thread andrea pacifici
Hi folks,

Even if I have enabled the topological editing and selected the check
box for avoid the intersection of new polygons, when I use the Free
Hand plug-in and I edits new polygons they could overlap each other.
This do not occurred using the normal Capture Polygon.

This occur with Qgis 1.7.2 and 1.7.1 both on Ubuntu and Mac machines.

If I remember right, using older version of Qgis the topological
editing worked also with the free hand plug-in

Maybe is a bug?

Old the best

Andrea
