Re: [Qgis-user] Qgis first startup is slow
Thanks Andreas. I now am really convinced that it is not a QGIS related issue, but a windows one. I still would like to understand where is the bottleneck. Hi Ted, for what I know there is the so called 'Tile slider' for tile services. But the scales defined for that one come from (I think the first) tile service that you call. You can off course create your own tile-service, add it as a background, and in that way have YOUR predefined scales. But that is probably a little over the top :-) I am not aware 'predefined scales' of other data formats of services, but please point me to it if I'm wrong.. Otherwise, maybe make it a feature request (after searching if it maybe already is ;-) )... Re: [Qgis-user] New scale selector with predefined scales (v1.8)
Hey Ted , Yep there is a patch ready in the waiting to add this exact thing. Once 1.8 is out it will be added. - Nathan On Tue, May 29, 2012 at 5:31 PM, Ted tiruchirapa...@gmail.com wrote: hi can someone point me , where and how do I change the predefined scales in v 1.8? i like to have my own set of scales for easy navigation. [Qgis-user] qgis and SAR images
dear users I'm working on remote sensing of environment using SAR images. I advice that QGIS is able to open many SAR image formats like .N1 or .h5 (.hdf5) and to keep intact the correct radar data in each pixel, but is unable to visualize the correct black and white map, but only the grey silhouette of the image is visible. Is it possible to rotate a grop of selected points in a similar way as it is done with move feature? Thanks Agus ___ Qgis-user mailing list Qgis-user@lists.osgeo.org http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/qgis-user

Anyway, in 'my world' the tile-services are becoming pretty important. It would be great if the dropdown could also be filled based on the scales defined by the tile scale slider. Here in NL we have a 'national tiling grid scheme' which does have scales near 'normal scales' but are off a little because of the fact that we want a factor of two between all scales... But off course we could always do this by hand... Regards, Richard Duivenvoorde ___ Qgis-user mailing list Qgis-user@lists.osgeo.org http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/qgis-user

Re: [Qgis-user] Rotate feature
Yes, I was looking for an interactive tool, similar to the move feature. But the method using spatialite is very interesting, thanks for leting me know. I now have more or less a certain pattern of points with the centers of the aerial pictures to be acquired, and it would be easier just moving and rotating the pattern to fit different study areas than generating the points from scratch again. Giovanni, can you post the link to your ticket? Also, I recall something on a place with general suggestions for editing tools, but cannot actually find it. I recently had to do some digitizing work (starting from an already existing work) to do a land use map and I also felt the lack of tools like: * fill hole/fill space (space between polygons) * add ring+automatic fill * a tool to help remove overlapped areas Just in case I already filed tickets with feature requests. cheers -- Giovanni -- ___ Qgis-user mailing list Qgis-user@lists.osgeo.org http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/qgis-user ___ Qgis-user mailing list Qgis-user@lists.osgeo.org http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/qgis-user
