Re: [Qgis-user] error in SAGA grid calculator

2012-06-05 Thread Victor Olaya

Which version of SEXTANTE are you using? It seems that, when calling
SAGA; it is not adding the RESULT value, which does not happen in the
current version.

Regarding the resampling region, it is the same as the grid system,
but you do not have to worry about layers having the same grid system,
SEEXTANTE will take care of that and resample all input layer
automatically

Hope this helps

 hi to all,
i can't find a solution of an error that is drivin' me mad.

i'm trying to do a simple calculus by means of grid calculator of saga,
 contained in sextante.
most of operations don't give me a result because an error tells me could
not to load layer followed by the path of grid generated by calculator.
please find attached log files of sextante.

 another question...
i didn't understand the meanings of resampling region values in the
 configuration window of sextante-saga module.
in saga gui, resampling is set by grid system that must be selected first
 of any operation among raster.
so i thought that this is the way to indicate the reference for creating new
 layers (extension and cellsize).
if it's so, i dont understand the relation between general configuration and
 grid system

hope to be clear, sorry for my poor english

 ciao!

I will try to check a bit more, since I cannot reproduce the error :-(

Please, do not use the pdf. It is outdated. Click on the SEXTANTE
help menu and you will see the new sphinx-based context help. Much
more updated .-)

Re: [Qgis-user] WFS reader in 1.8.0 without BBOX selection

2012-06-05 Thread Marco Hugentobler

Hi

There is a new 'cache' option now, which is more powerfull compared to
the restriction to the view extent. However, it seems to me unchecking
the cache option does not work anymore. I've added this as a new blocker
to the tracker.

layer in my WFS with 1.2 million polygons and it is never reasonable to try to
read the whole layer. BBOX is rather simple to use for limiting the query,
contrary to the Filter box that is new in the version 1.8.0.

Hi Jukka

the BBOX selection from map canvas has been temporarily disabled when
porting WFS support to the new data browser. It is expected that the
option will come back soon.

[Qgis-user] plugin download statistics by country

2012-06-05 Thread cempro
Hi,

Do we have any possibility to get any information about the download
statistics of QGIS plugins listed at http://plugins.qgis.org/plugins

For my case; I need a basic statistic like download by country (e.g. 110
from US, 50 from UK, 40 from FR, 20 from TR etc.) just for the plugin that
I am working on (http://plugins.qgis.org/plugins/FlowMapper/)

[Qgis-user] mdb and QGIS in Ubuntu 12.04 with UbuntuGis

2012-06-05 Thread Jesús Francisco
Hello,

I'm working with QGIS 1.7.4[*] in Ubuntu 12.04 installed from the
UbuntuGis repository[1]. Also, i need to work with an .mdb file made
by a colleague with ArcGis.

I seems that QGIS is able to work with .mdb files [2], [3] in Windows.
I don't find the link, but i readed that in Linux it was needed
mdbtools, or and/or LibreOffice Base.

The point is that there is people able to work with QGIS in Ubuntu and
.mdb files, but i can't. What am i missing?

Thank you!

Re: [Qgis-user] Homebrew formula for QGIS

2012-06-05 Thread Niekas

 Gis Mage gism...@gmail.com wrote:

Is there a homebrew formula for latest qgis?

Now there is :) Not in Homebrew yet, but you can install QGIS 1.7.4 with:

brew update
brew install https://raw.github.com/lifepillar/homebrew-versions/qwt52/qwt52.rb
https://github.com/lifepillar/homebrew/raw/qgis/Library/Formula/qgis.rb
--use-llvm

I have noticed that qt does not link properly: if you get an error, try

brew link qt

and repeat the above commands.

The formula fails to build with Clang: you need --use-llvm (I haven't tried
with
--use-gcc). Is QGIS tested with Clang?

There is little chance that the formula will be accepted into Homebrew as it
stands, because (a) it's a GUI app, and (b) it currently has a dependency
outside Homebrew. But if you provide enough positive feedback, maybe they will
accept it (for qwt52, I have submitted a pull request to homebrew-versions). If
you know how to build QGIS against qwt 6.x.x, or you have any other suggestion
to improve the formula, let me know, possibly via GitHub.

Have spatial fun!

Hello everybody
I use QGis 1.7.4. and Windows Seven.

If you dont want to switch to the dev version, you can try this:
(from
http://gis.stackexchange.com/questions/23647/what-is-the-problem-with-the-merge-shapefiles-tool-in-qgis
)

Browse in Windows Explorer to the file mentioned:

File C:\PROGRAMS (X86)\Quantum GIS
 Wroclaw\apps\qgis\python\plugins\fTools\tools\doMergeShapes.py

open it with a suitable editor (I use notepad++)
in line 22 you will find:

self.outFileName = None

insert after that:

   self.inEncoding = None

you have to adjust the beginning of the line with blanks (do not use
tabulator key!) so that the self. are standing left aligned.

Save the file and start Qgis again.

André Joost
