[Qgis-user] GRASS GRASS plugin
Hi guys I know this is probably in a tutorial somewhere, so in that case if you can just give the link I will appreciate it. :-) I have two questions on GRASS and the GRASS plugin. (BTW, I had downgrade my GRASS installation to get it to work with the latest qGIS on Debian Squeeze - is this a bug?). 1. Is there a way to simply import all the open (qGIS) layers (geotiff raster shape vector) into the current GRASS region without duplicating them or will I need to copy them to the right GRASS directory? (currently a subdirectory in my qGIS project directory). I created a GRASS region that is basically the same as the current visible area of my qGIS project. 2. Do I have access to all the GRASS command via the GRASS plugin, or will I have to open GRASS itself for detailed analysis? Thanks in advance Chavoux ___ Qgis-user mailing list Qgis-user@lists.osgeo.org http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/qgis-user

There is a GRASS command, v.external, that allows you *read only* access to shapefiles outside of GRASS. But normally you'll want to import all the layers you want to work with into GRASS. It has it's own vector data structure, and all the tools need to have vectors in that structure in order to work. 2. Do I have access to all the GRASS command via the GRASS plugin, or will I have to open GRASS itself for detailed analysis? Most are available in the GUI. Those that are not, (or modules that are available in the GUI but lack some of the command line options) you can run from the GRASS Shell in the Toolbox module list. [Qgis-user] Start up error Grass related
When I run QGIS 1.7.4 on my laptop I receive the following splash screen: QGIS couldn't find your Grass installation. Would you like to specify path (GISBASE) to your GRASS installation? I have tried various solutions, however no joy as yet. Re: [Qgis-user] DXF EXPORT
You should manually fix extent. You have to look for strings $EXTMIN and $EXTMAX and correct the actual extent values Xmin, Ymin, Zmin, Xmax, Ymax, Zmax. I soppose Zmin and Zmax are 0 (without quotes). $EXTMIN 10 Xmin 20 Ymin 30 Zmin 9 $EXTMAX 10 Xmax 20 Ymax 30 Zmax 9 Karlis Bis Nulama wrote: Autocad says: The database manager is not valid: 0 to the line 1548.
