[Qgis-user] North Arrow on Print Composer
Hi there I am setting up a print composer with QGIS 1.8. What I am missing is a plugin for the North Arrow llike the one that exists for the main QGIS window. I helped myself out with a flash and a N on top of it but that's not what I really want. Does anybody have a suggestions? thanks a lot Pascal ___ Qgis-user mailing list Qgis-user@lists.osgeo.org http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/qgis-user
Re: [Qgis-user] North Arrow on Print Composer
North arrows can be found if you insert a image and select one of the north arrow images. You can also link it so that the image rotates with the map. - Nathan On Fri, Jul 20, 2012 at 4:58 PM, P. [Qgis-user] h-over for pictures in QGIS 1.8
Hi all I have the following question: Out of my geotagged images I created a layer Foto with the photo2shape- . This worked perfectly fine. To see a picture I open the dialog box for the specific item. Then a choose the pre-defined action I made (standard Windows Viewer) by right clicking on the dialog box and the picture opens. Now I would like the picture to be shown when I pass over the specific item with the mouse (h-over), like it exists on Google Earth. Does anyone know if that is possible with QGIS? Thanks a lot for your answer Pascal ___ Qgis-user mailing list Qgis-user@lists.osgeo.org http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/qgis-user
[Qgis-user] SEXTANTE - GRASS MASK
Hi, One thing that I still can not understand on Sextant is how to get the Sextant working with the definition of GRASS Region and MASK. GRASS has a structure very rigid and defined in this respect, and now in Sextante I can not find a way of, for example, transform a vector layer into a raster, using another raster acting as Region and MASK, limiting all the processing to the limits and resolution of this raster. Right now I can not find a solution to achieve this. One way to accomplish this could be by selecting a raster as a reference, which serve as Region and MASK simultaneously, in order to limit all the operations to this area. This is because most of the times the area of interest has a format different from rectangular which is now possible to define by the coordinates of the extremes (BBOX). Could this be a solution? Thanks! Best regards, Pedro Venâncio ___ Qgis-user mailing list Qgis-user@lists.osgeo.org http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/qgis-user
[Qgis-user] QGIS Ubuntu repository
Hi, first of all hello! I just started using QGIS (mostly in combination with GRASS for processing data). I try to follow the wiki (http://hub.qgis.org/projects/quantum-gis/wiki/Download#261-Release) to install GRASS on my Ubuntu 12.04 machine. There it says to add the the qgis.org repository public key to the apt keyring with: gpg --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv 1F9ADD375CA44993 gpg --export --armor 1F9ADD375CA44993 | sudo apt-key add - but I get following error: ~$ gpg --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv 1F9ADD375CA44993 gpg: requesting key 5CA44993 from hkp server keyserver.ubuntu.com ?: keyserver.ubuntu.com: Connection timed out gpgkeys: HTTP fetch error 7: couldn't connect: Connection timed out gpg: no valid OpenPGP data found. gpg: Total number processed: 0 Is that related to my machine (ports?) or to the server. Maybe anyone has a suggestion... /johannes ___ Qgis-user mailing list Qgis-user@lists.osgeo.org http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/qgis-user
Re: [Qgis-user] create a tiff multy layer
You can accomplish this with gdal. On QGIS 1.8.0, go to the Raster menu - Miscellaneous -Merge. Select all of your input files and check the layer stack option. The output will be a new tif image with each of your previously independent images as a band which you can then assign to the RGB guns by pulling up the layer properties and clicking the symbology tab. [Qgis-user] problem with sextante geoprocessing
Hi, I'm trying to run a clip command in QGIS 1.8 Mac OSX 10.6 with the Sextante plug-in but get this error: Clip instance has no attribute 'vlayerA' Traceback (most recent call last): File /Users/chrishenrick/.qgis//python/plugins/sextante/core/GeoAlgorithm.py, line 116, in execute self.processAlgorithm(progress) File /Users/chrishenrick/.qgis//python/plugins/sextante/ftools/Clip.py, line 36, in processAlgorithm vproviderA = self.vlayerA.dataProvider() AttributeError: Clip instance has no attribute 'vlayerA' When I use the native clip tool that comes installed with QGIS the output is fine, so I don't believe it is my data. Anyone have any suggestions? This is my first time working with Sextante and I'd like to use it to perform batch geoprocessing for vectors. thanks, -Chris ___ Qgis-user mailing list Qgis-user@lists.osgeo.org http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/qgis-user
