Sounds simple, but the result looks a bit weired. The latest version of
openlayers plugin allows freely all zoom scales, with quit good tile
resizing.

Just discovered two things:
Changing EPSG to 3857 makes the TMS compatible with Openlayers plugin,
looking much better. 900913 and 3857 should be principally the same, but
Qgis makes some reprojection which makes the TMS tiles rather weired in
3857 projects.

And with TMS I can use self-made transparent overlay tiles, setting the
transparency color manually to RGB 0-0-0. Thats the only thing I can not
do with Openlayers plugin at the moment.

[Qgis-user] Query Builder error (MS SQL 2008 table)

2012-08-04 Thread Nesh P.
Hello Qgis-users,

I am trying to make very simple query in Query Builder
on layer 'point' which is opened from MS SQL 2008 R2 server

"ID" = 6

but this error
always appear:

[Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 10.0][SQL Server]
   Invalid object name 'point'.
   QODBC3: Unable to execute statement

What could be wrong ? It seems that I cannot use this builder at all
with my SQL 2008 tables.

Win 7 32bit
QGIS 1.8.0 standalone
MS SQL Server 2008 R2
SQL Server Native Client 10.0

I had the same issue some days ago but it was easy create the
launchers by hand. Maybe a bug in the installer?

I am also using self-tiled geotiffs from various sources, addressed via
localhost. It needs only little tweak of the openlayers plugin to get
them incorporated.

there are also other xml ready to be used:

Re: [Qgis-user] openlayers on qgis android

2012-08-04 Thread Dietrich Heintz
Dear Mike,
from view/panels/(check)GPS-Information

you will get under the TOC a window with the live GPS Tools.

>From there you can connect to your GPS device.

Have in mind that the operating system must have detected the device
already.
If you use a blue-tooth gps mouse, first connect the mouse to your OS and
notice the serial port the device is hosted.
Than you connect to this particular port from QGIS.
After few seconds you should get a signal.

I use it quite often and it works stabil.
The GPS gives you WGS coordinates.
If your map lies in a different projection, check from the Menu
Settings/Options/CRS/Enable on the fly reprojection.

kind regards
Dieter
