David,

I think you are right, because I was editing a shapefile, and before that I
played around with the info tool.
Thanks, I'll know next time when something like this happens

Yes,
I created an A0 map with master in august and had systematic crash if dpi was >
250 dpi. I had to set raster export to keep labels and some rasters not
exported. I Also had to downsize A0 to A1 to reduce final size. I used
afterward acrobat reader capacities to warp A1 to A0. But final rendering is
not good on paper.
I'm urrently working on creating a shared project to reproduce thoses crashes,

The scale you see in QGIS is the scale on screen based on the display's
resolution. The scale the WMS calculates is based on a different fixed
"artificial" resolution. Therefore the scale QGIS shows is not the
scale the WMS calculates when figuring out what to render.

As neither the scale nor the resolution are specified in the WMS request,
there's not much we can do. QGIS server was extended to support a
non-standard DPI parameter to solve that.

[Qgis-user] Changes in table attribute causes "Invalid Field Index" error when trying to save

2012-11-20 Thread Alexandre Neto
Can anyone confirm me this error?

I already created a ticket for it: http://hub.qgis.org/issues/6735

I'm using, QGIS 1.8 6416f38, in a Windows Vista 32bit Machine. Changes in
table attribute causes "Invalid Field Index" error when trying to save.

The error occurs doing the following steps:
- Open editing;
- Create new field; # Ups... not the field type I wanted
- DO NOT SAVE;
- Erase the same field;
- Save edition.

QGIS is enable to save the changes trowing the following error:

Could not commit changes to layer teste2

  Errors: ERROR: 1 attribute(s) not deleted.
  SUCCESS: 1 attribute(s) added.
  SUCCESS: 1 attribute value(s) changed.

  Provider errors:
  OGR error deleting field 1: Invalid field index

The error only occurs when deleting a recent created fields.

After that, the shapefile index seems to be messed up and data edited in
new fields may keep throwing errors, or even be lost.

I haven't tried in a Linux machine.

WORKAROUND: Always save editing immediately after creating a new field.

[Qgis-user] WMS map request error

2012-11-20 Thread Raffaella Sanna
Hi,
my Qgis project has several wms layers: some of them have connection problems
due to data source (sometimes it works, sometimes not...), so when I open the
project I have to close dozen of pop-ups with "map request error".
Is it possible to change setting for wms loading? It would be great if I could
clic only one time "close pop-up", and then apply this setting to all the
pop-ups.
Thank you.

I was looking at a Saga-gis module ("Shapes - Tools > Split Shapes

to split shapes into two parts with varying proportions between the
two parts. I can perform this sequentially to arrive at the desired

impact on the system of splitting everything in eg 20 parts versus 15

Preferably, a solution should be executable from the command-line.
