2013-03-09 Thread Manuel Spínola
Dear list members,

I want to uninstall OSGeo4W to do a fresh installation. I tried delete
the Folder OSGeo4W but I cannot do it because it says another software open
the folder, but I don´t know what it is referring to.

Best,

Manuel

2013-03-09 Thread Siki Zoltan

Hi Manuel,

probably you installed some server component (e.g. QGIS Mapserver, Apache)
and it is running as a service.
You should at least stop the service, but you had better to remove
the service from the system.

[Qgis-user] Sextante - Grass modification

2013-03-09 Thread magerlin
Hi Victor

The Grass v.split takes either a length or a number of vertices as parameter -
not both.

So I have split it in two algorithms (attached).

I must add that this is NOT how it is done in the Grass plugin. It only has a
v.split algorithm which must contain some logic on parameters (it can also only
handle one parameter).

Regards Morten

Or, if that is too complicated, just send them to me by email and I
will check them and add them. :-)

I would like to have a good set of example models to ship with
SEXTANTE, so feel free to send us your models if you do not mind to
see them included in a future release. That will help new users.

Thanks in advance for your help!

[Qgis-user] OSM plugin encoding problem

2013-03-09 Thread Nicholas Klein-Baer
Hi,

I'm using the OSM plugin for qGIS to convert some .osm data to
shapefiles. The .osm data in question has cyrillic characters in some
the tags, but when I save as a shapefile something seems to be going
wrong: The cyrillic characters all appear as question marks in the
resulting attribute table. I've tried specifying the encoding as UTF-8
in the 'save vector layer as ...' dialog box (this is the encoding
system used by OSM, correct?) but it doesn't seem to help.

Thanks,
Nick

That's a known bug in QGIS Lisboa. It has nothing to do with the OSM
plugin, but with the shapefile driver.

You can use QGIS Master version (where the problem is fixed), save to
GML or spatialite database, or try some of the workarounds mentioned here:

The success of those workarounds is a bit operating-system-dependent.

EDIT:
I just saw that there is a brandnew "Shapefile Encoding Fixer" plugin
available for qgis. I haven't tried it yet, but it might be what you want.
