[Qgis-user] QGIS / GRASS compatibility

2015-10-26 Thread Mark Seibel
I've been following this for a while, and see on the crowdfunding page QGIS
is reading GRASS layers successfully, but I cant get my QGIS to browse
GRASS vector or raster data (or add it).

I have QGIS 2.12 and GRASS 7.1.

I have purged all qgis* and reinstalled with qgis-provider-grass and
qgis-plugin-grass.

When I browse GRASS locations in QGIS browser, I dont see the directories
converted to GRASS icons like in the demo (
http://www.gissula.eu/qgis-grass-plugin-crowdfunding/progress.html).

I realize there is no plugin to add layers like historically, but using the
browser QGIS doesnt seem to recognize the GRASS location/mapset or layers.
I am sure I am missing something simple?

Here is a startup error I get in the plugin console. I have attempted to
resolve, but I dont understand what the issue is, other than the obvious:
it's looking for libraries that are not on my system.

2015-10-26T16:37:38 1 Failed to load
/usr/lib/qgis/plugins/libgrassplugin6.so (Reason: Cannot load library
/usr/lib/qgis/plugins/libgrassplugin6.so: (libgrass_vect.so: cannot open
shared object file: No such file or directory))

2015-10-26T16:37:38 1 Failed to load
/usr/lib/qgis/plugins/libgrassprovider6.so (Reason: Cannot load library
/usr/lib/qgis/plugins/libgrassprovider6.so: (libgrass_vect.so: cannot open

2015-10-26T16:37:38 1 Failed to load

Thanks for any help!

Which packages are you using? I'm not aware that any distribution we build
packages for already has 7.1 - the latest ist 7.0.1. If you have 7.1 you need
to build QGIS for it from source.

Are you using the OpenLayers plugin for your basemaps? If so, don't.
Use "Quick Map Services" instead.

I'm using the grass-daily (7.1) packages for trusty on Mint, but did have

Re: [Qgis-user] Exporting doesn't show all features

2015-10-26 Thread Chris House
Thanks Nyall!

It does appear there are 2 issues going on. First the background using
open layers. Switching to quick map services solved the OSM not displaying
in the export. However, the issue of the shapeburst fill not displaying is
something else entirely. It simply does not export. I am using 2.8.2 Wien
on Microsoft windows 7 64bit. I have a single vector layer polygon that
i've changed the style to inverted fill and shapeburst. I'm going from
Black to transparent. The end result is that vector layer does not export
from the main map or the inset map. Thanks again for any help!

Any errors in the Apache log files? Or QGIS server log file?

Did you specify the map parameter or use an according Apache rewrite rule?

Is there an X-Server running?

[Qgis-user] Add circular string tool

2015-10-26 Thread Piotr Kania

Hi!

Sorry if my question is "stupid" - I am learning all the time.

In postgis database I have two tables - let's say 'polygons' (gid,
the_geom,MultiPolygon,srid=2180) and 'lines' (gid,
the_geom,MultLineString,srid=2180). I'd like to use "Add circular string
tool" from qgis to create same arcs and save in those layers. From web
and from qgis error message (Geometry type (MultiSurface) does not match
column type (MultiPolygon); Geometry type (MultiCurve) does not match
column type (MultiLineString)
I know that I should have tables in postgis with geometry type
MultiSurface and MultiCurve.

Here is my question: how should I do that? Can I have that kind of
geometry type added respectively to my existing tables ie. MultiSurface
to 'polygons' and MultiCurve to 'lines'? If anyone can give working
solutions in sql code? Thanks

Hi all,

having trouble getting this map out of print composer with all the features
correct. I have a basemap that is a raster with some vector on top of
that. One of the vectors are symbolized as inverted shapeburst. It does
not show up on the png or PDF export. I also have an inset map with OSM as
basemap and that inverted shapeburst on topneither the vector or the
OSM layer show up in exports.

I've set the composition to both rasterize and not..didn't make a
difference.

I've locked all layers and layers styles, and set each to cache...

[Qgis-user] Announcing the release of QGIS 2.12 'Lyon'

2015-10-26 Thread Jürgen E . Fischer
QGIS is a user friendly Open Source Geographic Information System
that runs on Linux, Unix, Mac OSX, and Windows.

We are very pleased to announce the release of QGIS 2.12 'Lyon'. Lyon was the
host city to our developer meet up in April 2012.

Latest Release

This is another regular release following our four monthly schedule. It again
brings many nice new features to QGIS.

Please also note that we're constantly keeping our long term release QGIS 2.8
'Wien' in good shape to better suit more conservative production setups.

New Features in QGIS 2.12 'Lyon'

QGIS 2.12 includes many great new features, tweaks and enhancements to make the
most popular Free desktop GIS even more feature filled and useful. Visit the
visual changelog that highlights some of the new additions
(http://qgis.org/en/site/forusers/visualchangelog212/).

Whenever new features are added to software they introduce the possibility of
new bugs - if you encounter any problems with this release, please file a
ticket on the QGIS Bug Tracker (http://hub.qgis.org).

The source code and binaries for Windows, Debian and Ubuntu are already
available via the large download link on our home page: http://qgis.org. More
packages will follow as soon as the package maintainers finish their work.
Please revisit the page if your platform is not available yet.

Thanks

Finally we would like to thank our official sponsors for the invaluable
financial support they provide to this project:
