Is there an easy way to swap attributes from two objects on one layer?
I didnt found a easy tool to do that.

you can start asking in the qgis-developer list :)

in that list you can find different cases of successful crowdfunded
funcionalities (Lutra, QGISCH, Radim,...)

btw strange case of the life... a person, just today, asked me similar
stuffs about where to invest public funds if in the Topology Checker
plugin or in the Geometry Checker plugin.

what do you mind?

Hi Philip,

I just tested the plugin both in 2.8, 2.12 and current master, and it is
working fine. Both in epsg:4326 as in a projected crs.

are you working with a strange crs maybe? Or is the layer you are
working in other then the crs of your project?
Maybe OTF en/diabled?

If all fails, you could try to contact the plugin author via the issue
tracker of the plugin:

http://plugins.qgis.org/plugins/rectovalDigit/

But as said, with me the plugin just works.

[Qgis-user] Problem with decimal places in coordinates

2016-01-14 Thread Giacomo Minotti
Good morning friends
I have a big problem.

When I import in qgis ambient a .csv file with known coordinates at a given
number of decimal places, and I create a SHP file the decimal places of my
coordinates change.

For example: in .csv file a coordinate input type is X 15.67; when I save
as .shp file, the coordinate becomes 15.669 ... (with 15 decimal places
and not 2).

It there any methot to mantain the same number of decimal places?
Is it possible to choose the number of decimal places when I save a .csv
file to .shp file?

Thanks

How about using the "SIFT" method to find GCPs and then run i.rectify
to bring them together?

Or, mosaik with SIFT, then georeferencing the resulting mosaik map to
a modern orthophoto mosaik.

Or, run each tile through i.ortho.rectify for a full approach.

And then deal with the rail lines...

Just an idea,

[Qgis-user] Problema cifre decimali

2016-01-14 Thread Giacomo Minotti
Buongiorno a tutti

Grazie

Re: [Qgis-user] best way to download Large datasets from OSM

2016-01-14 Thread Clifford Snow
I just found this [1] morning. Looks like a good way to get started. I does
require installing PostGIS. The instructions are for Linux but Boundless
geo has installation pages for OS X and Windows. I have no experience on
Windows. The advantage of using a database back end is being able to run
queries for just the data needed. That should allow QGIS to run without a
30GB load.

You can share your QGIS styles with the repository for others to use.

There's a nice blog entry by Anita about this sort of thing.
A guide to GoogleMaps-like maps with OSM in QGIS.

OSM has some really large index numbers now which means you probably need to
bump it into some sort of DB for it to be useful.

Hi,

the relation is public.layer_styles. The problem is the xml fields. I
once noted for myself to

SET XML OPTION DOCUMENT;
prior to importing the dump. Didn't do it for a while so I am not sure

Another option is to dump layer_styles as plain SQL and then import it

I´ve saved styles using the option 'Save in database (postgres)'.

It works fine when I add a table to another project with 'Add to

But when I backup a schema and restore it in another machine I lose the
styles.

Where are stored the styles? Can I move a schema or a database to

Thanks a lot for your answer!

I just found this [1] morning. Looks like a good way to get started. I does
require installing PostGIS. The instructions are for Linux but Boundless
geo has installation pages for OS X and Windows. I have no experience on
Windows. The advantage of using a database back end is being able to run
queries for just the data needed. That should allow QGIS to run without a
30GB load.

I suggest to import OpenStreetmap data into Postgis using the standard
osm2pgsql. For Windows, the latest builds are linked here:
https://github.com/openstreetmap/osm2pgsql/issues/472

Update:

Since you are looking for a small bit of the whole OpenStreetmap data,
it is worth filtering the data before feeding it into the database.
osmfilter and osmosis are useful tools to do that on raw OSM data.

Actually - just a warning - that plugin leaks memory badly. Do a few
edits and eventually QGIS will grind to a halt.

[Qgis-user] Styles and PostgreSQL

2016-01-14 Thread Roberto Jesús Dip
Hi,

I use QGIS 2.12.2 and PostgreSQL 9.5 + PostGIS 2.1.8 (Windows x64).

I´ve saved styles using the option 'Save in database (postgres)'.

It works fine when I add a table to another project with 'Add to canvas',
it brings the style associated with the table.

But when I backup a schema and restore it in another machine I lose the
styles.

Where are stored the styles? Can I move a schema or a database to another
machine without losing the styles?

Thanks a lot for your answer!

Greetings,
Roberto.

Re: [Qgis-user] Problem with decimal places in coordinates

2016-01-14 Thread Nicolas Cadieux
Hi,
There are 2 problems. The first is that not all number can bit
represented on a base 2 representation (we normally use base 10 for
finances and banking). Wiki that and you will find it. It's normal
for things to change a bit. The second problem is the number of
decimals in the field. When you create a shp file, you can specify the
length of the decimal place. If it's there, you can probably use the
field calculator to create a new field with your specified length and
copy the data from 1 field to the other. (It may be too much trouble
for a non significant error if that is the case.) There may be a plugin
that may change number of decimal. (If you do, backup your original). I
may help if you specify the type of collumn you are importing in the
csv. This may help.

Cheers!

[Qgis-user] best way to download Large datasets from OSM

2016-01-14 Thread Joris Hintjens
Hello,
Ive been spending the past few hours trying to find out what is the best way to
download large chunks of OSM data.

I have no understanding of Databases nor of programming, so I am limited to
predefined tools, algorithms and/or plugins.

I want t create a map of all the (navigable) rivers and canals in Europe.
I downloaded the osm.bpf of Europe (30 Gig) and when I try to start a query,
QGIS freezes.

Downloading from overpass only the rivers with Quickest plugin) , gives me
timeout error (even after increasing the timeout parameter)

any other suggesting welcome.

Joris
