Those values, if from south Africa, can't be UTM. UTM are in metres, and we
should expect much higher values. Those are still in degrees.

I converted the shp file using Properties 'Set Layer CRS', from default

The explanation is here. Setting the layer CRS don't change it's
coordinates values, it only tells QGIS to consider the values to be in that
new CRS.

To convert the shapefile to a new CRS you need to right-click the layer and
choose save as... And then choose the new CRS.

The data type of the target field is Double, with 5 decimal places

Because saying QGIS the values were in meters you got sub-meter size
features.

Good luck,

I can't think of anything else to try and would be grateful for suggestions.

I followed this training manual a few years ago, and I repased in QGis 2.12
Pisa.
There are not such a bug.
Maybe you not select 'Decimal Number' 'Numeric' to the TYPE field.Maybe the
projection is not that you think, verify in the layer propierties.Maybe you
don't select the layer that especify the manualTry to start again from the
beggining the point 4.3.3.Verify the data again and again :D

[Qgis-user] QGis on ARM with Ubuntu

2016-03-06 Thread Luís de Sousa
Dear all,

I have Ubuntu 14.04 running on an ARM laptop and would like to install QGis on
it. Usually I install software from the ubuntugis PPA, but at this moment they
are not providing a QGis package for the ARM architecture.

Other than compiling it myself, what other options are there to install QGis on
this system?

Thank you,

Luís

Re: [Qgis-user] 2.5d webmaps with qgis2web

2016-03-06 Thread Tom Chadwin
Hi Anita

It's still experimental, and there's no documentation yet, so we can try to
see what might be going wrong. In the first instance:

- It only works with layers which have the 2.5d renderer explicitly
selected. In other words, if you use that renderer, but then convert to
another to create eg categorized 2.5d, it won't detect it as 2.5d. That's to
be developed.

- Polygon layers only, I think - I believe that's all OSMBuildings supports.

- I think it won't work with multiple 2.5d layers in your map, only with
one.

- Other than that, try hitting F12 to open the browser dev tools, select the
Console tab, and see what JS errors are there.

- If all else fails, do send me your project and layers.

I do want to get this good enough for a non-experimental release, so these
kind of bug reports are invaluable.

Thanks

Tom

Hi Tom,
Sounds great, I updated the plugin and changed to Leaflet, but no 2.5
layers are displayed in the preview. Is there anything else that needs to
be done? (OSGeo4W 2.14 nightly)
Best wishes,

[Qgis-user] Doubt about postgis materialized views

2016-03-06 Thread Xavier Barnada
Hi,

I noticed an inconsistent behavior on Qgis 2.14 when I try to load a data
from a postgis database.
It's the following, if I load the table x I don't need any primary key, but
if I create a view or a materialized view of the table x it must have a
primary key.
I solved it adding a key field when created the view but I don't understand
why this difference.
If anyone can explain me this difference I will be grateful.

Cheers

Re: [Qgis-user] R in QGIS on OSX using Kyngchaos build

2016-03-06 Thread gene
Processing has nothing to do with rpy2. it uses subprocess
   to execute the
original R script

The explication is in the
/Applications/QGIS.app/Contents/Resources/python/plugins/processing/algs/r/RUtils.py
script

1) RUtils first create a temporary file named
/Users/.../.qgis2/processing/processing_script.r with the desired R commands
(def createRScriptFromRCommands(commands):, line 73)

Example of the content of a processing_script.r file

options("repos"="http://cran.at.r-project.org/";)
tryCatch(find.package("rgdal"), error=function(e)
install.packages("rgdal", dependencies=TRUE))
tryCatch(find.package("raster"), error=function(e)
install.packages("raster", dependencies=TRUE))
library("raster")
library("rgdal")
Layer =
readOGR("/Users/Shared/telechargement/04_01_16/valuerelation_testproject",layer="testo2")
Field="num"
Summary_statistics<-data.frame(rbind(sum(Layer[[Field]]),
length(Layer[[Field]]),
length(unique(Layer[[Field]])),
min(Layer[[Field]]),
max(Layer[[Field]]),
max(Layer[[Field]])-min(Layer[[Field]]),
mean(Layer[[Field]]),

median(Layer[[Field]]),sd(Layer[[Field]])),row.names=c("Sum:","Count:","Unique
values:","Minimum value:","Maximum value:","Range:","Mean value:","Median
value:","Standard deviation:"))
colnames(Summary_statistics)<-c(Field)
Summary_statistics

2) it execute the script with subprocess (def executeRAlgorithm:, line 88).

  command = ["R", "CMD","BATCH", "--vanilla",
RUtils.getRScriptFilename(),RUtils.getConsoleOutputFilename()]
  proc = subprocess.Popen(command, shell=True, stdout=subprocess.PIPE,
stdin=subprocess.PIPE,stderr=subprocess.STDOUT, universal_newlines=True)

3) If you want, you can also use R directly to execute the script

 source("processing_script.r")

Conclusions

a) you need access to R in command line (Terminal.app)

   export R_HOME=/Library/Frameworks/R.framework/Versions/Current/Resources/
in the .bash_profile file

b) you need to install all the R packages independently of QGIS
  install.packages('rgdal')
  install.package('raster')
  .
