I don't know about QGis, but there are some free software available
like LibreOffice or even Dia:

[Qgis-user] qgis : how to do block diagram?

2016-04-11 Thread image93
Good afternoon,

I am working on windows 7. I would like to do a block diagram (topographic
and geological representation). Is it possible to do that with qgis or other
opensource software?

Thanks.

[Qgis-user] Adding OpenSeaMap to QuickMapServices

2016-04-11 Thread Anita Graser
Hi,

Do you know if it's possible to add OpenSeaMap to QuickMapServices?
http://wiki.openseamap.org/index.php?title=De:OpenSeaMap_in_Website

http://t1.openseamap.org/seamark/ http://tiles.openseamap.org/seamark/

I tried but the resulting layer is just scrambled noise / confetti.

Thanks and best wishes,

Re: [Qgis-user] Full SLD

2016-04-11 Thread Jonathan Moules
Hi Richard,
Maybe some devs have replied off-list, but it doesn't look like anyone has
replied. I'd suggest it's probably worth posting this sort of query to the Dev
list.
In the past, features have been funded in a number of ways including pooling of
funds for a specific feature which may be the way to go for this.

This also highlights a significant omission on the website - in get-involved
there's sections for donating and annual sponsoring, but nothing obvious for
sponsoring a specific feature.

But yes, try the dev list.
Cheers,
Jonathan

I was wondering If I could pose a question to the developers, what would be
required in order to get FULL SLD support for QGIS
We find QGIS to be a very flexible layer styler, and while it does allow you
to save your style as a SLD, the SLD format used by QGIS does not work well
with other applications for example uDig or GeoServer.
If there is interest in this area, we may be interested in helping to fund it.

Can you remove /Plugins/watchDog/ from QGIS settings
($HOME/.config/QGIS/QGIS2.conf) and try to find out (log) why it is
crashing.

Is there a UI to remove plugin from watchDog?
I don't think that cc650f93 reenableas plugin once it got to watchDog,
because if it is in watchDog, it is set to false in /Plugins/ and thus not tried to load.

Re: [Qgis-user] working with rasters

2016-04-11 Thread Nicolas Cadieux
Hi,
Try to figure out exactly why you are getting the error from Maxent.  Does
that software only use raster with identical pixel size and layer extent? If
it's the pixels that don't align, that may be fixed with various tools in the
Qgis raster menu (like gdal warp), or by just changing a few parameters under
the "save menu".  Be wary of the impact this can have on the data.
You could just change the extent of the raster by adding empty pixels or by
clipping down the others.  Try to get Maxent to work first with dummy data
if needed.
If you want  info on how to make a new raster, you need to explain with
what kind of data you are working with.  Are you working with point
data?  Be more specific please.

Re: [Qgis-user] Preserving joined fields in Processing outputs

2016-04-11 Thread Havard Tveite

Since QGIS Processing Dissolve (mentioned in the issue)
accepts joined fields for the Unique ID field, the result
should contain that field.
So it seems most logical to include joined fields in the
result.

Re: [Qgis-user] Preserving joined fields in Processing outputs

2016-04-11 Thread Bernhard Ströbl

Just my two cents:
+1 to leave it as it is
reasoning: I would always expect the current behaviour; a virtual field
is - well - virtual, I can redo it after processing (BTW it would be
good if it was savable in a qml file) and I can join to the result, too.
No need to carry unnecessary fields from joined layers along.
Plus, as stated in the discussion, GRASS/SAGA/ogr won't keep these
fields anyway, to implement it for QGIS algs only would result in
inconsistent outputs
