Subject: [Qgis-user] Mini dump when using the QGIS Vector Layer
Histogramalgorithm

Hi All,

I’m having a frustrating afternoon. I’ve had more mini dumps than I’ve had hot
coffees.

I have a project with only two layers. One a point layer and one a line layer.
I want to make a histogram for one of the attributes in the point layer and
QGIS 2.16.1 crashes on me.

This is part of an assignment where I am to use a number of different software
applications to produce a result and assess the software (as well as the
result). These crashes are not looking good for QGIS.

[Qgis-user] Geological Symbols

2016-08-20 Thread Grant Boxer
I have managed to accumulate quite a few geological symbol and pattern svg
files and wondered if I can upload them somewhere so we can use the QGIS
Resource Sharing plugin? Please advise a suitable location and I can upload
them.

If you interested
In tuscany website is available a package with qgis project dataset and of
course the svg.
You could see how use them in that qgis project.
Hope this help.

Re: [Qgis-user] Qgis 2.16.1 crashes when opening a processing tool (Ubuntu)

2016-08-20 Thread Bernd Vogelgesang

Hi Stéphane,

did you already try to backup and remove your .qgis2 folder and QGIS2.conf
in .config ?
By this, you have real clean install. I also had several issues when
upgrading from 2.14 and this solved some.

If everything is fine afterwards, you could copy back your plugins
manually and restore saved connections etc. from the config file

Good luck
Bernd

Hello

I have recently updated Qgis to 2.16.1 and Ubuntu to 16.04 LTS

Since then, whenever I try to open a processing tool from the
processing toolbox, Qgis crashes (no error message is shown).

Has this happened to anyone? Is there a known bug or something? As far
as I can tell, Qgis seems to be working properly >>otherwise.

Thanks a lot i advance!

Re: [Qgis-user] drawing transport networks sharing lines

2016-08-20 Thread dave . potts
Thanks guys that is wonderful.

As in all things the options to do what you want is sort of buried in Qgis and
once you know that its there you wind up kicking your for not spotting it
before.

As you say Style,, click on the lowest level of your line and the details for
the line appear including Offset option, I had just been looking at the the top
options.

You could try adjusting the X and/or Y offset for each tube line
although it doesn’t draw them exactly parallel. In my example my line width is
2 units and I have duplicated the lines and offset one layer 1 unit and the
other -1 unit

Well, depending on how many classes you have for routes, you could make
each type (class ) a differnt width, and stack the lines on top of each other
with the widest one at the bottom of the stack.
If you don’t have vertical order control, you m,ight be able to get
away with some level of opacity applied to each trail in order to see through
to the next line type.

Is there anyway of getting qgis to draw the links next to each other?

For example with the tub network the district and circle line is drawn as two
lines yellow and green next to each other when they share a common route. Qgis
would draw the green line on top of the yellow line

Try a thing you haven’t done three times. Once, to get over the fear of
doing it. Twice, to learn how to do it. And a third time, to figure out whether
you like it or not.

Hi Grant.
it would be nice to have a geological toolbox, with a more complete
implementation of symbols and data structures. Recent work by Akbar
https://lists.osgeo.org/pipermail/qgis-developer/2016-August/044117.html
could help a lot in this.
All the best.
