That is a very strange request (to only rotate one layer), but anyway.

You can use the layer's draw effects(layer properties, style, layer
rendering.

Use the transform effect.

[Qgis-user] Layer Styling Panel Crash

I just downloaded 2.18.7 and am using mac os sierra. I've been going through 
the qgis tutorials and am currently on 4.2: The Label Tool. The label panel 
appears in its default spot on the right of the window when I open it. When I 
tried to free the panel by dragging the panel from the top and also clicking 
the freeing icon the program quits unexpectedly.

[Qgis-user] [processing] connect selection input in model

I have a selection input parameter in a processing script and would like to
use it in a model.

However, as far as I can see there is no way to connect the selection input
parameter to an output parameter of another script.

This is probably because there is no matching 'selected selection' output
type. Such a 'selected selection' output type could be either a string
matching one of selection options, or an integer index into the array of
selections.

Is there a recommended workaround ?

I may use a series of (pseudo) boolean input parameters instead as in:
x use Option A
x use Option B

Any thoughts or ideas very welcome,

SQL?

If you are using shapefile you can use virtual layers if you are on QGIS 2.14+ 
or pop the layers into a spatialite DB.

And query thus:

SELECT **columns**
FROM **tables**
WHERE ST_Intersects(geom1, geom2) AND id1=id2;

You can extract the geometry from feature polygon and point and you perform a 
geometry intersection.

Here is a sample in python.

featurePolygon - pointer to feature polygon
featurePoint - pointer to feature point

polygonGeometry = featurePolygon.geometry()
pointGeometry = featurePoint.geometry()

if featurePolygon ["ID"] == featurePoint["ID"] and 
pointGeometry.intersect(polygonGeometry):
#Do whatever you need to do.
print pointGeometry.intersection(polygonGeometry)
