[Qgis-user] eVis Plugin Query

2018-07-21 Thread Grant Boxer
I am having problems using eVis on multiple layers in my map window (using
QGIS 3.2). I can get the eVis plugin working fine on one layer (for example
site photos), but when I add another layer (with reports) in another layer,
the latest layer settings overwrites the original layer settings in the eVis
options. So my question is - can I have more than one layer with specific
eVis settings in a map window?

Re: [Qgis-user] Georeferencing images

2018-07-21 Thread Nicolas Cadieux
Hi,
Play with the placement algorithms. Start with the basic Helmert with 2 or
more points. Anything more than 2 points and you will see where the distortions
come from and give you an idea of what your are dealing with. Finish with
Thin Plate Spline (TPS).

Thanks everyone - I discovered the Plugin! However it takes a bit of
practice, and sometimes it fails to position the image correctly - I
think it needs more that 4 points, probably about 8, to work properly.

If I understand you correct you want to see two raster layers at the same time ?
If yes it´s blending you are looking for - a fast video

Emne: [Qgis-user] Georeferenced raster images

Hi - I am a new user struggling to pick up the fundamentals - I have
successfully imported a LIDAR raster layer and hillshaded / pseudo
coloured / contoured it.

My problem is that I want an image of a topographical map  behind it as
a base map to provide context.

The GIS I am familiar with had the facility to take an image eg TIFF,
JPG, PNG, georeference the four corners, and import it into a layer so
that it was matched to the vector map. This seems a simple and I should
have thought common requirement eg you want to put a TIFF of a historic
map behind the modern map you are creating.

I cannot see any way of doing it - am I being obtuse?

Any help appreciated

Wolstan

Re: [Qgis-user] extract Z value along line

2018-07-21 Thread Nicolas Cadieux
Hi,
Or you could make a line, extract the nodes and then use the point sampling
tool. If you create a straight line with two nodes, you can densify the line.
This way, the nodes will be evenly spaced.

[QGIS-it-user] Versatilità di QGIS

2018-07-21 Thread Marco Spaziani
