[Qgis-user] create clean knot-edge-model

2019-07-27 Thread Christoph Jung
Hello at all,

does anybody know, if QGIS has a function to create a clean knot-edge-model
from an unclean road network? PostGIS provides the function createTopology to
achieve it, has QGIS an equivalent function?

Sincerely,
Christoph

[Qgis-user] WMS/WMTS layers removed from project if offline

2019-07-27 Thread Patrick Dunford

Good day

I have three WMS/WMTS layers in my project and if the internet
connection of my computer is active when I load the project, there is no
problem with these layers. However if the internet is offline when I
load the project, the layers are flagged as "missing layers" and are
removed from the project.

This makes absolutely no sense in the project. The missing layers dialog
to me is one that comes up when the files that store the layers are
physically not present on my computer. In this case, the details of
these WMS/WMTS layers are stored in the project file, so they are not
physically missing from the project. Whether there is an accessible
internet connection to the layer should not actually matter unless I
tried to display the layers.

I don't know how to stop this problem from happening but I don't want to
have to have two different versions of my project in case there might
not be an internet connection available when I am using my laptop
somewhere.

[Qgis-user] Reproducing a TimeManager bug on OSX

2019-07-27 Thread Anita Graser
Hi,

I'm looking for TimeManager users on OSX who can help reproduce a recently
reported issue: https://github.com/anitagraser/TimeManager/issues/307

The ticket contains a test dataset. Please try to add it to TimeManager and
report the results in the issue on Github.

Thank you!

Re: [Qgis-user] create clean knot-edge-model

2019-07-27 Thread Nicolas Cadieux
Hi,
You have multiple plugins and tools available. You can download the following
plugins:

Geometry Checker
Topology Checker

Look in the main menu or in the processing tool box for the following:

Multipart to Singlepart
Check validity (use both methods)
Remove duplicate vertices
Deleted duplicate geometries
Snap geometries to layer, (search for snap in processing)
V.clean (break an snap, rmdangles) see the cleaning tools.

Some of these are unstable like check Geometries. Try fixing one problem at a
time for better stability.

Btw Christoph,

If you have multiple shortest path routes to figure out (as in hundreds,
millions, or billions in my case), contact me. I am working on a python script
to do that.

Re: [Qgis-user] Qgis-user] QGIS 3.8 on Debian 10 slow and crashing

2019-07-27 Thread Micha Silver

I think I might have landed on the issue: multiple geopackage
databases in the same project seem to be the cause of these
lockups, not responding and user session restart.

I started fresh (again) removing all QGIS packages, as well as my
whole ~/.config/QGIS and ~/.local/QGIS/. So no plugins and no
configuration. Then I reinstalled from qgis.org/debian (regular
packages) which is now at 3.8.1

I started building a project from scratch with a big mix of
layers, different CRS, changed styling, multiple map layouts, etc.
No problems at all. I created one gpkg and did many cycles of
edit, saves, save the project, restarted. Again no problems.

Then I added a second new gpkg layer, and boom: the project
locked, session restart, all the symptoms I saw before. Restarted
and tried again to edit the second gpkg, and again got the crash.
Is it possible that Debian has some database locking mechanism
that is causing a race condition and leading to these crashes? (I
should add that I don't see any of these problems with any other
  software on the same machine)

Thanks,
Micha

I haven't edited anything yet but I've suffered a couple of crashes ( user session restarted) in Debian Buster. I think I've read something related in the GitHub issues.

In the past this behavior (slowing down and eventually crashing) has
always been caused by a faulty plugin. I'd try with a clean profile
and no plugins installed.

What happens if you choose to keep them in the project when the bad layers
handler dialog appears?
