[Qgis-user] (no subject)

2021-08-27 Thread takacsviki
Hi all! Please help me!! I installed QGIS 3.16. When trying to add a VMS
layer, it returns me the following message:    Nie powiodło się pobranie
Capabilities:Pobieranie "capabilities" nie powiodło się: Dostęp do
sieci wyłączony. =   download CApabilities was unsuccessful, the network access
is switched off.    Should I configure somewhere network connection? What to do
and how? Previously I have used several versions of QGIS but never had similar
problems.    Thanks for the help! Viktoria

TNX for all Charles.

I think the best approach will greatly depend on your input data
structure and situation, but I should think it certainly is possible.

In the processing toolbox, there is a GRASS tool called
v.voronoi.skeleton which is pretty effective at producing single
centerlines from polygons. If what you want is not achievable with a
single tool, the modeler will allow you to chain processing steps to
achieve that outcome, likely in a much more effective manner than in
the article you linked to. There may also be community built
processing models available on GitHub or GIS stack exchange which
might already do this for you. We are hoping to get more solutions on
the https://plugins.qgis.org/models/
platform so that this type of
content is more discoverable in future.

I hope that's at least enough to help you get started.

Hi there,

I think it may be a bit unclear exactly what your objective is.
Perhaps attaching an illustration of some sort would help the
community better understand the problem so that we can assist
with a solution.

Hello colleagues,

I need to generate in QGIS street axes from a block face and

It's possible?

[Qgis-user] How to change polygon size in the symbology

2021-08-27 Thread krishna Ayyala
Hello,
I have a Polygons layer with about 25 features of different sizes. How to
increase its size in the symbology such that the size of the 25 polygons
increase proportionally?

Regards.

2021-08-27 Thread Hugh Kelley
Hi Krishna, you can either use the buffer tool under "vector" >>
"geoprocessing tools" to permanently create larger polygons or you can use
the geometry generator option in the symbology settings to generate and
then symbolize buffers around the polygons on the fly.

Re: [Qgis-user] LAStools on Mac Catalina --- LAS -> LAZ

2021-08-27 Thread Maria Shinoto
Hi,

this is an answer to myself for anybody interested.

Three possible solutions I thought of:

(1) QGIS -- LAStools seem to not work any more on Macs above version 3.14.

(2) wine -- this would have been an elegant solution in the mac Terminal: 'wine
lastoolscommand filename' -- But unfortunately, wine does not work with Mac OS
10.15 and above any more.

(3) Virtual Machine or Parallels Desktop with Command Line Interface --
horrible since I absolutely do not know Windows, but the CLI was fine, so I
opened the CLI at the folder with the .las files and the LAStools.exe file I
needed (laszip.exe in particular; all in the same folder); and that worked
really well. I was afraid of the reaction of the Virtual Machine on the large
files, but no problem.

So (3) was the way to go. I only hope that wine will return to the Mac...

Best and thank Nicolas for your support,
Maria
