Recently I was in an environment where they had a so called 'netscaler' (as
outgoing proxy I think) to 'clean and guard' downloads from the internal office.
With me that meant:
- using pip: 95% of packages went ok, but some of them triggered something on
the netscaler, making it abort the download
- same with npm runs
- same with some installers or zips/jars...

So: could it be that there is 'something' in between the connections between
QGIS and this mac's?

In cases of failure, moving to another (4G or another physical) connection,
does that help?

Hm, sounds like https://github.com/qgis/QGIS-Website/issues/935

No sure what it is - the files were apparently ok.

Hi,

I am not sure, just tried from both firefox and safari and it works fine..?
The link on the main web download page is indeed
https://qgis.org/downloads/macos/, and it is just a symbolic link to the
latest sucessfull build in the subdirectories ltr/pr/nightly

Re: [Qgis-user] Label Blocking in Print Layout

2021-09-09 Thread Nicolas Cadieux

Hi,

In my MapInfo days, I would just create a layer with a big 100%
transparent polygon on the top right corner and then place the North
Arrow on top of this invisible box...  This required the creation of a
polygon in the project that reflected the extent of the printed map.  If
this does not work, you could also place a transparent label in the
North Arrow box so that other label don't feel the need to invade that
space. You can also force the placement of some labels by moving them.
It helps when the map window and layout windows have the same scale.
The last time I really payed attention to labels, QGIS would basically
lock the label in when a labels was moved to a new position.  Not sure
if this is the default now as I see there has been changes to the label
engine.

Just my grain of salt...

Nicolas

I had thought that I had seen this referenced somewhere, but have been

[Qgis-user] Label Blocking in Print Layout

2021-09-09 Thread Hugh Kelley
Hi all,

I'm wondering if anyone is aware of a way for items in a print layout, a
scale bar or north arrow for example, to inform the labeling engine. Lould
I prevent a label from being rendered underneath a north arrow for example?

I had thought that I had seen this referenced somewhere, but have been

this yet.

Re: [Qgis-user] I need a list with the azimuth of each segment and its associated morphotectonic value

2021-09-09 Thread C Hamilton
The Shape Tools plugin (https://plugins.qgis.org/plugins/shapetools/) has
an algorithm called "Geodesic measurement layer". If you unselect, "Measure
total length rather than each line segment" then it will break each of your
river lines into individual segments and will include the distance and
azimuth in the attribute table of each segment.

Best wises,

Re: [Qgis-user] I need a list with the azimuth of each segment and its associated morphotectonic value

2021-09-09 Thread Nicolas Cadieux
Hi,
You will find some answers here.

https://gis.stackexchange.com/questions/264422/displaying-azimuth-of-line-in-qgis

By segment, you mean for each line? If so, this should work. Make sure you
have no multilinestring in the project or else you will have funny result. If
by segment you mean each segment of a line between each node, you could modify
the solution here to calcule the azimuth between each node pairs or use
explode. Make sure you keep a backup of the data as explode or multipart to
single part may change you database drastically.

You can find the multipart lines, using the fix directional network model found
in the QGIS hub. https://plugins.qgis.org/models/ Model 1 will find all the
multipart lines if you have some. The other models will find and fix other
network errors.
