Re: [Qgis-user] Import kml with all the fields

Is it KML (single file) or KMZ which may contain multiple files? Unzip the KMZ
and have a look at the files – maybe there is some way to connect/join the
different files via a common field

Phil,

Thanks for the reply. I did drag and drop. But still only "Field1" shows up in
the attribute table. There are other fields such as "description", "timestamp",
"begin", "end" which show in the attribute table. These other fields are
automatically generated when I add kml to the map. But all I am interested to
see are Field1,Field2,Field3 and Field4.. The only useful filed I see is
Field1. When I open this kmz in google earth and click on any point, I see all
the four fields. Is there a way to see all these four fields in QGIS?

Re: [Qgis-user] Update Null Geometry

2022-01-20 Thread Richard McDonnell
Hi Hugh,
Are you working with a CSV file? Or is it a shapefile?? Im not sure if this
will work, but create a new point for a null geomety, you can then, using the
Attribute table (in edit mode), Merge Features, by selecting the new geometry
and the table row without geometry, then selecting Merge
Features[cid:image001.png@01D80E18.C81AC070] The popup will then allow you to
merge the two, you can select the row without geometry and select “Take
attributes from selected feature” this should merge your new geometry with the
attribute.

Richard

Hi all,
I have a points dataset with a few null geometries in it.

Is there a tool that can update these in place?

It seems that the point editing tool must add a new row instead of updating an
existing row.

The vertex editing tool seems unable to update a null geom since there's
nothing to initially click on.

Maybe I'm missing a tool or way of using the vertex editing tool?

A less preferred workflow would be to create a separate file and manually add
the points with the primary key as an attribute to later update on in postgres
but it would be much cleaner to edit the table in place I think and I am
curious if there is a solution since I'm not thinking anything up myself.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Many thanks Andrea, not sure how I missed those! Fingers crossed it gets
fixed soon, especially with LTR next month, it's blocking our roll-out.

You can also go to https://github.com/qgis/QGIS/releases where there's a
link under each release for the included changes, so for 3.16.16 it links
to https://github.com/qgis/QGIS/compare/final-3_16_15%5E...final-3_16_16.
That way you get interactive links to the commits, PRs and Issues, and you
can also choose which releases to compare.

Cheers!

[QGIS-it-user] OSGeo4W Network installer e le varie versioni interne di QGIS

2022-01-20 Thread Totò Fiandaca
Salve lista,
sono stato invitato a parlare di QGIS e i vari modi di installarlo:
stand-alone, OSGeo4W v1/v2, stable, LTR ecc...

io uso da anni OSGeo4W network installer e ho sempre installato:

qgis: QGIS Desktop;
qgis-dev: QGIS nightly build of the development branch;
qgis-ltr: QGIS Desktop (long term release);

ma ci sono tanti altre opzioni come:

qgis-dev-full: QGIS nightly build of the QGIS nightly build of the
development branch  branch (peso 1k);
qgis-dev-pdb: Debugging symbols for QGIS nightly build of the development
branch;
qgis-full: QGIS Desktop (meta package) (peso 1k);
qgis-ltr-dev: QGIS nightly build of the development long term release
branch;
qgis-ltr-dev-pdb: Debugging symbols for QGIS nightly build of the
development long term release branch;
qgis-ltr-full: QGIS Desktop (meta package, long term release) (peso 1k);

qui uno screenshot più dettagliato:
https://imgur.com/qQqMxj5

intuisco che gli acronimi:
-dev: development (versione di sviluppo)
-ltr: long term release (versione a lungo termine)
-full: non ho idea, a che serve? anche perché pesa solo 1k
-pdb: non ho idea, a che serve?;

poi ci sono anche le combinazioni:
-dev-full
-dev-pdb
-ltr-dev-pdb

dove posso leggere delle info su questi acronimi?

grazie
