[Qgis-user] A good task for someone wanting to get involved -- update CPT ramps
Hi all, Here's an idea for a good task for someone wanting to get involved in QGIS contributions which doesn't require any c++/python. Currently we package a subset of the CPT ramps archive in QGIS, which you can see here https://github.com/qgis/QGIS/tree/master/resources/cpt-city-qgis-min It's missing a lot of the ramps present in the current version of the CPT archive from http://soliton.vm.bytemark.co.uk/pub/cpt-city/ . Some of these are because the licenses won't permit bundling with QGIS (e.g. the ESRI sets), but others are just missing because we haven't updated our subset in a loong time. (E.g. compare the subset present in QGIS https://github.com/qgis/QGIS/tree/master/resources/cpt-city-qgis-min/gmt from the GMT set vs http://soliton.vm.bytemark.co.uk/pub/cpt-city/gmt/index.html ) It would be great to update our subset and re-sync it with the upstream collection. We're missing a lot of nice ramps we could be bundling by default :) I'm happy to mentor this task if someone wants to give it a shot... [Qgis-user] qt designer does not have/show QgsDateEdit widget
Dear all, I need a date widget that can be set to a null date. From https://qgis.org/pyqgis/master/gui/QgsDateEdit.html#module-QgsDateEdit I understand that this should be possible (from 3.14 upwards). In Qt Designer (osgeo4W/bin/qgis-designer.bat which I understand is shipped with QGIS 3.26) I only see the QgsDateTimeEdit widget. [image: image.png] How can I use the QgsDateEdit widget? Re: [Qgis-user] Startup error and missing directories under Fedora 36
*John Dougherty* /Mon Jul 18 23:03:36 PDT 2022/ The question I have is do these error affect how QGIS works. The plugin menu inducates that metasearch is a core plugin. Hi John, if you don't use the MetaSearch plugin, then you can disable it in order to avoid the display of the error at startup. The issue only affect the MetaSearch plugin functionalities and not any other QGIS functionality. Best regards. You can workaround the issue just copying the file "gdal305.dll", that is present in your QGIS installation directory under the \bin\ folder, with the name "gdal304.dll" in the same folder. See https://github.com/jef-n/OSGeo4W/pull/10. In addition to the above workaround, know that the issue has been already fixed and it will hopefully not occur in the upcoming QGIS 3.22.9 Standalone Installer. Best regards. Interesting. It seems that the actual directory structure under .var/app on my system is different from what the python configuration expected for loading metasearch. That might be because I use KDE rather than GNOME. It looks like the KDE spin of Fedora 36 uses flatpak for a great deal. The question I have is do these error affect how QGIS works.
