Salve a tutti gli amici della comunità QGIS.it,
si sta avvicinando un momento molto importante per la comunità
internazionale di QGIS, ovvero le elezioni per la formazione del nuovo PSC,
Project Steering Committee, ovvero il comitato di guida del progetto QGIS
che da indicazioni al consiglio direttivo  in merito alla principali
decisioni "strategiche" (suddivisione delle risorse, infrastruttura,
incontri tra sviluppatori etc...)
QGIS è un software maturo ed affidabile ormai diventato uno standard
diffuso presso le istituzioni e le organizzazioni che operano sul
territorio. Il modello di sviluppo intenso e talvolta frenetico che ci ha
portato sui nostri PC release di QGIS con sempre nuove funzionalità forse
ha è forse giunto al termine e si prospetta invece un nuovo modello in cui
viene privilegiata la pulizia e la manutenibilità e l'aggiornamento
rispetto all'inclusione di nuove funzionalità in un codice che è diventato
monumentale e può essere compreso nella sua complessità ed interezza ormai
da pochissimi sviluppatori.
Le elezioni si svolgeranno dal 19 al 26 settembre ed i candidati hanno

With Graduated vector symbology there are various modes such as Equal
Count, Equal Interval, Logarithmic scale ,Natural Breaks (Jenks), Pretty
Breaks, and Standard Deviation to apply the graduated style to the vector
data.

With raster styling there are only "Interpolation" options Discrete, Linear
and Exact, and then the "Mode" of Continuous, Equal Interval, and Quantile.

Is it possible to implement similar styling methods such as Jenks in raster
as you have with vector? Can these styles at least be simulated in some way
with how QGIS is now?

When I tried both methods, the interests takes about 20x times longer than the 
extract.  The number of rows output are the same.  So my assumption is that 
they would be the exact same just one faster.  Was just making sure that I did 
not miss something in it..

your case, it will always return a point anyway. Also, it will add both input 
layer's attributes in the output file.
The Extract by location will just check which points are within the polygons 
and present it as an output, hence much faster.

My starting approach would be to take the road layer and buffer that
out by some small distance - say 5 meters. (Note that you have to be
working in a projected coordinate system for the buffer distance to
have useful meaning.) I would then intersect the buffered layer with
the polygon (lot) layer. The resulting intersections will be the
overlaps between the buffered roads and the polygons. The attribute
table will contain a list of all the intersections and each row of
the table will contain the attributes of both the lots and the
roads, so if the lots and roads have attributes with meaningful
names, you will have a list of all lots that intersect roads and the
names of the road it intersects with.

You could also try extract by location from the processing toolbox.
This would give you a layer of the original lots (polygons) that
intersect some road, but won't tell you which road.

  Is a polygon "next to a road" because one (or more) edges of the polygon is exactly coincident with the road line? Or is it within some distance of the road line? These lead to different solutions, but unless your data is very precise, asking for the boundary to be exactly coincident with a road line is not going to be very robust.Does your road polyline feature have a road width? If so, does that factor into "next to"?

Trying to understand what the difference is between intersect vs 
exteactbylocation .

Extract by location takes NO TIME, under a min on all of my runs, but 
intersection takes quite a bit of time..  In the end, all I want is what lines 
in the CSV (packaged as GPKG) are within or are contained within the Shapefile.
