Re: [Qgis-user] Exporting maps out of QGIS into Adobe Pro to create layered pdf files

2023-07-12 Thread Jamie Gould via QGIS-User
Okay, I found those PDF Export Options - I had to create a Layout Template
first, and then if I use the export to PDF it is successful, but TBH my
template is blank and I am not sure how to bring things from my map into the
template to print to PDF from there. If I go back to the map screen and export
the map, it is still exporting as a static unlayered image.

>A couple of things I noticed, in the Layout template the "append georeference

>on or off.

 >If I do the export to PDF in the map, when I toggle on "Create Geospatial PDF
 >(GeoPDF)" the export fails

[cid:a0a11849-fb21-45d0-9973-a7e31dcd6b0a]

 >and I get this Warning error:

Would anyone happen to know why? And if so, would these things be affecting my
ability to export out layered pdf files?

Thanks again,
Jamie

Hi Jamie,

There are several tastes of pdf...

One of them is 'GeoPDF', a layered pdf, which you can create if you create a
layout first in QGIS and then export that to pdf.
For the options see:

I've exported a simple map of two layers to:

In most pdf viewers you can check/uncheck both layers, AND you can 'identify'
objects there.

Can you check if that is what can be handled by your tools?

Hi Jamie,
almost everything you need to know about the QGIS functionalities is
explained in the QGIS documentation available in various languages at

How to create a print layout in QGIS is explained at

How to export a print layout in PDF format is explained at

Greetings QGIS Users,

I have a long-standing issue with the color picker dialog box
in QGIS – all versions (running on Windows 11, but issue has
been encountered on various Windows versions) and I’m
wondering if there is a setting or some other fix to resolve
this.  The issue is that when I click on the down arrow on the
color settings dialog in the Layer Styling panel the color
picker dialog box only partially opens (image on the left). I
have to click twice more to close and then reopen the color
picker dialog box to get it to fully open (image on the
right).  This happens the first time I attempt to open the
dialog box after performing another function.  If I remain in
the same layer and test other colors the dialog will open
fully with one click.   This seems minor but when I’m setting
up colors for lots of new layers or matching colors to those
of other features within a project, where the “Pick Color”
function is really handy, it gets pretty tedious.  I suspect
this is a Windows issue but any thoughts about the issue and
how to resolve it would be appreciated.

There are still not that many server implementations yet. But hopefully the
