Re: [Qgis-user] Georeferencing dxf file in QGIS

2024-05-14 Thread Linda Boisvert via QGIS-User
Thank you Richard. Your suggestion was a step in the right direction.

I had to import using the add vector layer then export as an ESRI shapefile
and add the shapefile layer. That put all the features from the multiple
dxf file layers on one layer and I was able to move the design. But it is
important the keep the dxf layers separate and move the whole group of
layers at once to maintain the relationship.

[Qgis-user] High load on plugins.qgis.org

2024-05-14 Thread Tim Sutton via QGIS-User
Hi all

We have been experiencing a very high load on the plugins server. Despite
moving to a more plugins server the problem is ongoing. We plan to add some
rules that require a captcha or similar if you want to download the zip
files for plugins from the web site (i.e. if the user agent is not QGIS
Desktop), which will hopefully reduce the load on the server somewhat. Lova
will keep you posted as we work on a fix, apologies for the inconvenience
in the meantime.

Regards

Tim

Re: [Qgis-user] Georeferencing dxf file in QGIS

2024-05-14 Thread Richard Greenwood via QGIS-User
You can just use the QGIS *Move Feature* tool, possibly in conjunction with
the *Rotate Feature* and/or *Scale Feature* tools in the advanced
digitizing toolbar.

   1. Assign a coordinate system to the DXF layer. If you don't know the
coordinate system, or if the DXF file doesn't have one, assign the
coordinate system of your reference layer (your aerial photography)
   2. Make your DXF file editable. Depending on how you imported it you may
be able to make it editable, or you may need to copy all of the features to
   an editable work layer.
   3. Select all of the features, pick the *Move Feature* tool, pick a
source point on a corner of the building, pick a destination point on the
corresponding corner in your reference layer. (this takes some serious
   panning and zooming!)
   4. With all of the features still selected, pick the *Rotate Feature* tool,
while holding the Control key click the building corner to fix the rotation
base point, then click two more points to define the rotation angle.
   5. You may need to scale it e.g. convert feet to meters. If so,
pick the *Scale
Feature* tool, hold the Control key and click a base point, then two
more points to resize all of the features.

The move, rotate and scale steps are performing an affine transformation
which should provide reasonable results over small areas if both the DXF
and reference layer are in projected coordinate systems, ideally local
projected coordinate systems like State Plane or UTM, and not Web Mercator.

Does this make sense

2024-05-14 Thread oisin.kelly.wild--- via QGIS-User
No it won't work. It's not SQL syntax, it's expression syntax. So you need to
use a function to get the corresponding feature from another layer. Hence
getfeature() or one of the  overlay_ functions.

You will end up with a long expression.

Or, you could use sql in dB manager?

[Qgis-user] Can't accomplish comparisions between different Map Layer Table's

2024-05-14 Thread Guillermo Parra via QGIS-User
Hi,
I have several tables with the same fields, same grid information, but
different field data for each one (information from different providers, let's
say).
Particularly, I have a field with 0 and 1 which represent if each provider
have, or not have coverage in that area.
I want to compare the values of each table to set "1" if at least one of the
providers have coverage in each area, or "0" if None of them have it, so I used
the field calculator and the expression builder with this sql statement:
if( 'H3centr_h9_cobcubierto'  = 1 OR 'H3centr_h9_cobcubierto' = 1
OR'H3centroides_h9_cobGT3D cubierto' = 1 OR'H3centroides_h9_cob_cubierto'  =
'1' OR'H3centr_h9_cob_cubierto' = '1' OR'H3cent_cob_cubierto'  = '1'
OR"H3centrR9_Tc3D_cubierto"  ='1', 1, 0)
The problem is that apparently it is considering only the last field in double
quotes (which is in the same table that the new column where I want to fill the
data), and the other fields apparently are beign ignored.
I would guest that it would be better to specify the table and field where each
data will be taken ( like  if( 'Table1.H3centr_h9_cobcubierto'  = 1 OR
'Table2.H3centr_h9_cobcubierto' = 1 OR... etc.)but when I make double click
over each layer field, QGIS writes it that way, so I asume it is correct.
So, if someone have an idea on how I can make it work, I would greatly
appreciate any suggestion.Thanks,
Guillermo.

Re: [Qgis-user] RASTER RESOLUTION REDUCING

2024-05-14 Thread Richard McDonnell via QGIS-User
Hi Nuno,
As usual there are a number of ways to do this. Grass: r.resamp.stats as Em
suggested would work, but might I also suggest the Warp tool, based on
gdal_warp.
This can be found by going to the Menu bar select Raster, Projections and Warp.

Parameters:

Input Layer
Set this to the Raster you want to resample

Source/Target CRS
If you’re not transforming your dataset to another CRS then you can leave these
alone, but you can also set these to the value of the Raster CRS
Resampling method to use
As you are looking for the average of the Pixel values, you can select Average
here.

No Data value for output Bands:
Set if required

Output file resolution……:
This is the one of most interest to you, here you can set the resolution of the
output to 2500

Reprojected:
Specify the Location and Filename that you want the new Dataset to have, you
can leave it blank if you like for a Temporary file to be created.

Hope this helps!
Kind Regards,

Richard

Subject: Re: [Qgis-user] RASTER RESOLUTION REDUCING

Hi Nuno
Apologies in advance, I am no raster specialist, but perhaps try using some of
the other tools such as Grass: r.resamp.stats

To get the information, would the GDAL Raster Information
tool
 assist?

Cheers
Em

Dear all,

I need to reduce the resolution of a raster, from a 30 meter pixel to a 2500
meter pixel.
Performing this operation via "Creating new layers from an existing layer" and
using the "Resolution" raster parameter is very easy.
But the value of the new 2500 meter grids is not the average of the values of
the 30 meter grids.

How can I determine that in the destination grids its value is the average of
the values in the original grids?

Suggestions will be very welcome!

Grateful,

Nuno

Hi Andreas,

Many thanks for your feedback.
It will be an online workshop (CEST time zone). We will update the page
with the times and other details as you suggested.

Kind regards
Saber

Dear Saber,

This sounds like a very interesting workshop. Is this an online remote
workshop or onsite somewhere in the UK? The information on the website
doesn't clearly state that.

Thank you for the clarification,

Andreas

[Qgis-user] QGIS and weather data

2024-05-14 Thread Saber Razmjooei via QGIS-User
Dear QGIS users,

In recent years, we have added several features in QGIS to better handle
weather data. There are also several organisations (NOAA, ECMWF, NASA, etc)
that are publishing their data freely.

We are offering a 2-day workshop to discover the data and bring them in
QGIS for analysis, interpretation and visualization:
https://thrivegeo.com/visualising-meteorological-data-with-qgis/

Users will get a QGIS certificate and a small part of the income goes to
QGIS.org.

Kind regards
Saber
