That sounds good to me. So, out if the box, any 3D vectors that are below
the DEM will not be rendered?

Hi Nicolas,

I just noticed https://github.com/qgis/issues/32247 that was just posted

could be troubles ahead for QGIS users.

I was afraid our IT department would blacklist QGIS. This ticket was

Hello All,

One of our computers has been getting many alerts by Trend saying there is
an issue caused by “Hacktool.Win64.NirCMD.SM” on the command nircmd.exe.
And this is a description: of that alert:
https://www.trendmicro.com/vinfo/us/threat-encyclopedia/malware/HackTool.Win64.NirCMD.SM

Is this a false positive virus alert?

2019-12-23 Thread Bob and Deb
Hello all,

One of the frustrating problems is that we frequently get virus alerts
related to TSC_GENCLEAN from Trend Micro antivirus. After a bit of
research, I see that this alert is a common false positive. Has anybody
seen this before?

Btw, I've also seen alerts that say "Unauthorized File Encryption". And it
seems to happen most when I either quit QGIS or QGIS crashes.

Re: [Qgis-user] Drill hole section with QGIS 3

2018-03-15 Thread Bob and Deb
In the past, I've was hoping to make a QGIS plugin to do Liquefaction
Analysis . This analysis
uses a borehole database, ground motion grids, and historical high ground
water grids. What prevented me from doing it was that QGIS Relations can
not work with composite keys . So, I
hope that any work on getting QGIS to work with boreholes would address
this problem.

[Qgis-user] Dealing with tables that have composite keys.

2018-01-09 Thread Bob and Deb
Hello qgis-users,

It has been a while since I've looked at QGIS, but I'm excited to hear
about the new stuff in QGIS3. I'm hoping that it will help me with an old
problem that has kept me from fully embracing QGIS.

If I have a table called Sample_Data with attributes (official_name,
sample_id, top_depth, bottom_depth) and another table called
Soil_Indices_Lab with attributes (official_name, sample_id, parameter_name,
parameter_value, parameter_units), and I want to use QGIS Relations using
(official_name,sample_id), I run into this issue (
https://issues.qgis.org/issues/9531). Can anyone tell me if QGIS3 will
address this problem or if there are other features in QGIS3 that will
allow me to work around this limitation?

Thank you,

Hello All,

I just noticed that the Grass Processing module r.resamp.rst only accepts
integer resolution (ew_res, ns_res). According to the GRASS docs, those
parameters are supposedly of type float:

Hi Stefan,

Thanks for putting the files up on SourceForge. I tried to checkout the

Also can you tell me if these files are still public domain?

Maybe he should reopen http://hub.qgis.org/issues/1694 and upload the

symbols (http://ngmdb.usgs.gov/fgdc_gds/geolsymstd.php).

Hello all,

I’m hoping that someone can help me with a problem I’m having with QGIS. It
seems that web services and plugin updates does not work. I just looked
at the event log you and saw a bunch of QGIS related events that shows that
CSAgent is blocking QGIS. These are some of the log entries:

   - The process '\\\OSGeo4W\OSGeo4Wtest\bin\qgis-bin.exe' (as user
\) attempted to access the registry key
   '\REGISTRY\MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Cryptography\RNG', value 'Seed'. The

   '\REGISTRY\USER\S-1-5-x\Software\Trolltech\OrganizationDefaults\Qt
   Plugin Cache 4.7.false\O:\OSGeo4Wtest\apps\Qt4\plugins\imageformats', value
'qgif4.dll'. The attempted access was a write (operation = WRITE/VALUE).
   The operation was denied.
   - The current application '\\\OSGeo4W\OSGeo4Wtest\bin\qgis-bin.exe'
(as user \) attempted to execute the new application

Hi Sylvia,

Not sure where it is in Windows, but under Linux, you can find the database
at ~/.qgis2/qgis.db

[Qgis-user] Oracle provider broken under OSGEO4W?

2013-10-25 Thread Bob and Deb
Hello list,

Today, I updated OSGEO4W 32-bit, and as a result, I can no longer load an
Oracle layer for both qgis and qgis-dev. I get the error message "Cannot
get Oracle select dialog from provider". I also noticed that I can not get
gdal (which is now at 1.10.1) will not load geospatial pdfs. Any
suggestions?

Re: [Qgis-user] Oracle - QGIS connection

2013-09-24 Thread Bob and Deb
Hello Jonathan,

How about setting the environment variable ORACLE_HOME to
c:\admin\apps\oracle32\product\11.2.0\client_1 and TNS_ADMIN to the
location of the directory that contains tnsnames.ora? That is what I did
and it works fine. In the past I also had to rename the oci.dll (or you
can remove it) from c:\osgeo4w\bin because it conflicted with the oci.dll
in %ORACLE_HOME%. Btw, we are connecting to Oracle 11.2.0 using OS
authentication.

[Qgis-user] Sextante: How to turn of optional output parameters?

Hello qgis-users,

I'm using the Sextante interface to GRASS's r.slope.aspect and I'm only
interested in getting the slope and aspect, but Sextante wants to calculate
all the other output parameters. Is there any way to get just slope and
aspect with Sextante? All of the parameters labeled "" are
optional in GRASS.

I'm still not able to run qgis with my garmin 60Csx on the USB port. With

Re: [Qgis-user] Proportionnal point for polygon

2011-12-06 Thread Bob and Deb
Silly me...I meant to say make the border color the same as the fill.

I want to illustrate what I'm talking about. Currently it is a pain to:
1) Set renderer to "Graduated", select Column to classify, enter
number of classes, color ramp, etc then hit Classify.
2) double click on a class symbol to bring up the Symbol Selector.
3) click the "Change..." button to bring up the Symbol properties"
4) click the "Color" button and add color to Custom Color and click "OK"
5) click on "Border Color" and select Custom Color that was set in 3)
and click "OK"
6) click Symbol properties "OK"
7) click "Symbol Selector" "OK"
8) Go to 1) and select next class

If there is an easier way to do this, please let me know.

What would be nice is:
0) Set renderer to "Graduated", select Column, enter number of
classes, color ramp, click on a new button "Set border color to fill",
etc then hit Classify.
2) There are no step two...you're done! All class symbol borders are
now the same color as the fill. You no longer need to set "No Pen" on
each class (which leaves ugly gaps)

I'm not sure if QGIS can currently do this with the existing API, but
it would be great for QGIS 2.0 :-)

Re: [Qgis-user] Proportionnal point for polygon

2011-12-04 Thread Bob and Deb
I was just looking at a some high density point feature. Even though this
data was classified, the black boundary of these points made it hard to
visualize my data. It would be neat if there was a toggle button that
allows you to make the border color the same as the border color.

One of the cool new tricks i've recently learned is the use of field types
in VRTs. Take a look at some of the examples in

One wish I have is to make Easy Print work with the Openlayers plugin.
When I use it, the Google basemap either disappears or the vectors

Hello all,

I am interested in mapping landslides using the symbols found here:
http://ngmdb.usgs.gov/fgdc_gds/geolsymstd/fgdc-geolsym-sec17.pdf .

Can I do this with qgis? If I can do this in qgis, I would also like

to the size and direction of the landslide. How do I do that?
