Hi there

Same issue here. QGIS 3.4.13 under Windows 7, PC in a corporate LAN, (not

[Qgis-user] GRASS doesn't import layer from various CRS gpkg

2018-12-12 Thread Carlos Cerdán
Hi group:

Here whit QGIS: 3.4.2 - Ubuntu 18.04.

I can't import a polygon from a gpkg file to GRASS as QGIS plugin. Message
is: "Detected different projections of input layers. Input layers must be
imported separately". Gpkg file has one GEO and two UTM layers, and I was
trying to import one UTM layer. Perhaps GRASS have read the wrong place, so
It refuse to import a layer from a geopackage with different CRS layers.

Developers please take note about it.

Cheers

Re: [Qgis-user] Display Point with Show Labels

2018-11-13 Thread Carlos Cerdán
What about to use scale interval? You're using view based on rules; then,
you can define scale intervals to show desired points (and their labels)
depending of scale.

Good luck,

Re: [Qgis-user] Iterating two layers in Report - QGIS 3.2

2018-07-04 Thread Carlos Cerdán
Thank you very much Frank.

Yes, it's an excellent post, I've read it to learn new Report features.

My issue are labels: I would like to hide them if they are out of the
feature that is being iterated, especially when there are various labeled
layers... Well i've used plan B: satellite imagenery from quickmapservice
as base, which is masked by iterated polygon which has no fill; and white
labels that are hidden by white fill of polygons that are not iterated.

[Qgis-user] Iterating two layers in Report - QGIS 3.2

2018-07-03 Thread Carlos Cerdán
Hi list

I would like to make a report (atlas) iterating two layers where:

1. Layer of level 2 administrative boundary is iterated (with atlas
feature) and shows it as a no filled polygon, with out label; and else
polygons as white filled with labels; and

2. Layer of administrative level 3 boundary is iterated too (with atlas
feature), and shows labels only in polygons that are intersected or are
within the active level 2 boundary.

How can be this done in QGIS 3.2? I was succsefull in QGIS 2.18, but now it
doesn't work. I've tryed rules as:

 intersects(@atlas_geometry,$geometry )

contains(geometry(@atlas_feature),centroid( $geometry ) ) is true

but nothing.

I'm tring this because of non desired labels of level 3 boundary. One
solutiion is using white labels that are fused with white polygons of level
2 boundary... but it is plan B.

Any advice please?

Cheers!

[Qgis-user] Labels and qml in 3.0

2018-03-01 Thread Carlos Cerdán
Hi list:

It's great to can control labels better in QGIS 3. I've was trying it in
Windows 10, but have one issue:

I can move, rotate, etc, labels of a new pre-styled (it has a related qml
file) or not pre-styled polygon layer; but if I save the style as
predefined, labels go static and label controls don't work.

I've erased the related qml, and label control returns, reloading the layer.

Is it some bug or I'm doing something wrong?

How can I save label settings as predefined after change location and/or
rotation with this new control?

Thank you in advance

Hi Timothée:

Even you're on Mac, perhaps it's related with issue (and *temporal*
solution) described here:

https://gis.stackexchange.com/questions/224617/problem-getting-saga-activated-in-ubuntu-qgis-2-18-2

You can try workaround described there: Look for SagaAlgorithmProvider.py
file and change line 76 (or equivalent)

Good luck

[Qgis-user] QGIS 2.18 y 2.99: Don't ask for save changes

2017-12-28 Thread Carlos Cerdán
Hi list. Some developer here?

I opened a project just for change the name of a print composer: i've
opened the Composer Manager, changed the name of the unique composer,
closed it, and closed QGIS, waiting for "Do yo want to save the current
project?". It didn't appeared, and, of course, changes were not saved.

Tested in Ubuntu 16.04 (QGIS 2.18) and Windows 10 (QGIS 2.99). It's not
waited behavior, is it?.

Hi list:

Does anyone know how to make comments permanent in the fields of the
attribute table? (see image on

When I open the properties of the layer and go to the "fields" tab, I can't
make the comments recorded. I tried to put the layer in edit mode and enter
comments with quotes, but nothing.

Maybe I'm using this feature the wrong way. Any suggestions?

Hola Manuel

Me ha pasado algo similar en ocasiones. Es problema de topología. Algunos

Re: [Qgis-user] Can we make QGIS stop lying?

2017-05-25 Thread Carlos Cerdán
Hi Tobias:

I understand your frustation (I've lived it), but QGIS doesn't lie, it is
different from the way that some topics are done in another GIS.

You can get right metric values even if your layer and project are in
Lat-long units. In your particular case, if your project and layer CRS is
EPSG 4326, please try with this expression in field calculator:

length(transform($geometry, 'EPSG:4326', 'EPSG:25832') )

If your project CRS is 25832 (on the the fly CRS enabled) but your layer is
still EPSG 4326 or 25832, you can use:

 length($geometry)

If your project CRS is 25832 (on th fly CRS disabled) and your layer is
EPSG 25832, you can use:

$length

Yes, it's something complicated, but it's the price for more liberty. With
areas it's similar. Perhaps it's better don't use "$length" or "$area". I
recomend "length" and "area" fuctions.

For difference beteween "$_function" and "function" see help for fuctions
in field calculator

Best whishes from Perú.

Re: [Qgis-user] An issue with DEM terrain models

2017-03-09 Thread Carlos Cerdán
Hi Giacomo

Perhaps the SRC of your DEM is ESPG4326 (lat-long) if so, vertical units
are meters and horizontal units are degrees, then the relation between
vertical and horizontal units is 11, and you must put that value in the
"scale" option. It is because 90° = 10'000,000 m (one cuarter of meridian).

Saludos

Re: [Qgis-user] inconsistenty when calculating area depending on file type or projection?

2016-10-25 Thread Carlos Cerdán
And light was done!

Objective: to get planimetric-UTM-my-zone areas, in square Km, from a
LatLong layer, just at one step: in Fields calculator

area( transform( $geometry,'EPSG:4326', 'EPSG:32717' ))/100

Sorry, I was wrong for years, reprojecting layers; deactivating OTF SRC;
and using $area function: It happens when you don't read help in front of
you and don't try "new" functions.

Done, but calculated area is still... geodetic area?. I've tried ArcGIS
and, for my GEO layer, It gives me desired area (same as an UTM layer,
calculated with OTF off); so, it's me or QGIS, but I can't do this task in
one step on QGIS: first I've to reproject mi GEO layer into an UTM one;
disable OTF and finally calculate area (planar, as UTM is) in the new UTM
layer.

It was my fault. I was used to consider plane areas as "correct",
forgetting ellipsoidal areas. So, QGIS give us freedom to calculate planar
or ellipsoidal (geodetical) areas, but we must be careful about settings;
Is not it?. Sometimes, too much freedom is annoying!

But, How can I calculate UTM (planar) area from a GEO layer in one step?

Thank you very much for your time and so sorry if I'm doing basic questions.

Re: [Qgis-user] inconsistenty when calculating area depending on file type or projection?

2016-10-15 Thread Carlos Cerdán
Hi Nyall (and list)

A small projecto with UTM and GEO layers can be downloaded from dropbox:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/c4cfb48r5326vrk/Cajamarca.zip?dl=0

Attribute table has the correct area in AreaKm2 field (and in these
unities). "AreaOTFoff" is the area given by field calculator when "On The
Fly transformation" is deactivated. "AreaOTF_on" is the area with it
activated.

So: when I have a GEO layer, I can't calculate correct area directly in
that layer: I've to reproject to UTM and deactivate automatic
transformation of SRCs, to use field calculator expecting correct values.

OS : Ubuntu 16.04
QGIS : 2.16.3
SRC settings: by default (ellipsoide WGS84 for measures)

Thank you for your interest

Re: [Qgis-user] inconsistenty when calculating area depending on file type or projection?

2016-10-14 Thread Carlos Cerdán
Hi Nyall

I'm afraid that 2.16 has still this issue. I've loaded an UTM-17 south
layer (my zone) and a Lat-long layer and:

1. SRC was seted in UTM

2. In UTM layer, if OTF SRC transformation is active, I get different area
than if it's deactivated. Correct value is the last one.

3. In Lat-long layer, if OTF SRC transformation is active, calculated area
is same as the wrong value of first layer. I can't get the correct value in
this layer, so I have to reproject into a new one and do step 2 (with OTF
deactivated).

What about a general option to set the prefered SRC to calculate areas and
lengths with OTF active?

Regards from Peru

Carlos

Hi Randal:

The label expression:

[% '1 inch to ' || (to_int( $scale )/12) || ' Feet'%]

must work... but I got "1 inch to 0 Feet". $scale help says: "This
function is only available in some contexts and will be 0 otherwise".
Which contexts?

[Qgis-user] Sampling points, keeping order

2016-09-08 Thread Carlos Cerdán
Hi list:

I have got a rasters set for montly precipitation, between 1981 and 2015,
with names 1981-01; 1981-02; etc. so, in a files browser, 420 files (36
years x 12 months) are showed, ordered.

I also have a shape of points where I want to sampling points whit such
plugin, but when I use it, fields are ordered randomly, so I'll have to use
table manager plugin to order fields.

Some advice about how to make it directly, keeping order? Does "point
sampling tool" plugin keep order with some way to order layers in QGIS
panel?

As a shape file has limitations about the number of fields (255?) I have to
do it in parts of 10 years. After it, i hope to join these parts in
Spatialite. Is there some way to do it directly in Spatialite?

Greetings

Hi Lester:

I'm working with 2.16 and rule labels works fine. Before Andreas' advice,
I've been working with expression "case when...". Not more, rules based is
better...

Re: [Qgis-user] Labelling certain contours

2016-08-18 Thread Carlos Cerdán
Thank you very much Andreas! You're right. I've just tried rule-based label
with a large contours layer and difference in time consumption is notable.

So, in Lester's case, rule would be just:

"ELEV" % 1000 = 0

Carlos

case when "ELEV"%1000=0 then "ELEV" end

Re: [Qgis-user] QGIS Crash - Raster Properties

2016-08-16 Thread Carlos Cerdán
HI John:

Do you have NAN values in your raster file?.

I' found that with such layers, QGIS 2.16 crashes when I try to make
pseudocolor style, both Windows and Linux. Perhaps your case is related,

Developers, please take note about it.

While, if you are in a hurry, try a LTR QGIS version, 2.14 or 2.8 (I'm not
sure). Some time ago I could work with this kind of raster layer without
troubles.

Good luck

[Qgis-user] QGIS crashes with NAN values

2016-08-11 Thread Carlos Cerdán
Hi there.

Reporting this issue in QGIS 2.16

I have some monthly precipitation raster layers [1] with "NAN" values where
there isn't calculated values.

When one of this layers is loaded, it's showed fine in grey scale and the
new (and great) hillshade option, but when I try styling a raster layer
with pseudocolor, QGIS crashes. In Ubuntu 16.04 - QGIS 2.16.1 i got
"segment violation". In Windows 7 - QGIS 2.16.0, "Minidump Written to C"

Some one else has this issue?

Regards from Perú.

Re: [Qgis-user] Label buffer rings

2016-08-09 Thread Carlos Cerdán
What about to set coordinates for your labels?. You would can calculate X
and/or Y label coordinates as center coordinates plus radius of buffer plus
some aditional length acording your presentation scale. These values must
be in a field and, on your label menu, you must set Ubication as "Data
defined". Even rotation can be controlled this way.

Good luck

[Qgis-user] Integer values ordered as text in attributes table

2016-08-01 Thread Carlos Cerdán
Hi users list, Hi developers

Just to report about strange behavior in QGIS 2.16 - Ubuntu 16.04: In
attributes table, when I try to order a field of integer values by clicking
in their header, it's ordered as a text field.

This field was created as an integer one, their values where taken from a
field with just numbers, but with text format, so in order to populate my
integer field, in field calculator i've created an integer field, with 10
digits and populated their values as: to_integer(field_T). Field_T is the
one with numbers as text. The new created field is, in fact, an integers
field, but this issue persists.

Perhaps, Does QGIS 2.16 need some adjust in this portion of code?.

Sorry, I don't have another trick (limited linux knowledge) but What
about to uninstall also these dependencies?. Perhaps you can get an empty
"field" in order to "seed" QGIS

If it's useful: I have Ubuntu 16.04 and QGIS 2.16: related libraries
installed are libspatialte7 (depends libgeos-c1v5 >=3.4.2) . I don't have
libgdalh, instead it, libgdali.

Hi Otto:

Try uninstalling all QGIS stuff, even GRASS. After that, clean your
repositories and left just your prefered one; update and install again QGIS.

That workaround was my salvation in similar cases (Ubuntu 1x.04 and QGIS

Re: [Qgis-user] FW: Couldn't load QGIS utils

2016-07-12 Thread Carlos Cerdán
Thank you very much Matthias... I've just discovered it, and found that
Processing is now part of the core of QGIS, so if someone is updating from
2.14 or less, must unistall the processing plugin to avoid conflicts with
Processing core (sorry if terms are not correct).

Now, all is fine... I hope.

Regards from Peru

2016-07-12 Thread Carlos Cerdán
Yes, Processing WAS enabled, and it was broken!. I've uninstalled it and
now all is fine: Processing plugin was in conflict with Processing core.

So... it affects to updates from 2.14 to 2.16. All of you are advised:
after updating, you must unistall processing plugin, cause now it's part of
QGIS core.

Good QGISing!

There is an issue that can be related with this: ftools disappeared in QGIS
2.16 (Ubuntu 16.04. Don't know about windows); so we still can't do basic
vectorial geoprocessing. I guess it's under revision.

[Qgis-user] Fwd: Default line width in styles

2016-05-30 Thread Carlos Cerdán
Thank you very much Tyler, that's that I wanted, but it works for the
current project only (QGIS 2.14.3 - Ubuntu).

I would like to set the default width of polygon border lines to all of new
projects in one step.

Perhaps it can be done from a text-configuration file?

Re: [Qgis-user] QGIS closes unexpectedly

2016-05-18 Thread Carlos Cerdán
Thank you Randal!

It was not individual rendering. You gave me a great clue: It was the way
how QGIS tries to do rendering: using many cores. So, I turned off this
option (Configuration --> Options --> Rendering --> Render layers in
parallel using many CPU cores ).

Now QGIS is working fine.

So, Is still multi-cores usange under development? (My processor is Intel®
Core™ i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40GHz × 8 )

Thank you Randal.

No, I'm not applying SVG styles. It happens even with a layer with single

I've tried running QGIS with no plugins, or with different layers, but I
got same behavior. In Windows it's ok.

Re: [Qgis-user] QGIS closes unexpectedly

2016-05-11 Thread Carlos Cerdán
Sorry, i mistook data. It's QGIS 2.14.2 and Ubuntu 16.04

But I'm in same trouble: QGIS closes unexpectedly specially (but not
always) when I apply a style

Running from terminal, when it happens, I get this message:

*ERROR 6: EPSG PCS/GCS code 53009 not found in EPSG support files. Is this
a valid EPSG coordinate system?Violación de segmento* (Segmentation fault?)

My QGIS repo is http://qgis.org/debian xenial main

Please some idea about what it's wrong? It's a 2.14.2 QGIS bug?

[Qgis-user] QGIS closes unexpectedly

2016-05-09 Thread Carlos Cerdán
Hi there:

QGIS 2.14.3 - Ubuntu 16.04

My QGIS installation begun to fail since I've updated to 2.14.3. It closes
unexpectedly. I have not found a patron, sometimes it's in a zoom, changing
style, trying to open a layer, etc.

Someone has similar trouble?

Before update, all was fine. Is it something in new packets? Perhaps it's a
plugin?. Compiz effects? Ubuntu's classic desktop?

Please if some has an idea, it's welcome.

[Qgis-user] QGIS freezes in designer

2016-03-31 Thread Carlos Cerdán
HI there

QGIS 2.14.1
Ubuntu 15.10 - 64 bits

In designer, when I try to change the width of one map through properties,
QGIS freezes.

It happens if i select the current value in the "width" box of "position
and size" and try to overwrite it with another value, typing it.

If I change the size by clicking and dragging it goes fine.

Someone else has this error? It's a bug?

Another thing to check:

- Is your map file (jpg image) georeferenced?. If not, use Raster -->
Georeferencer --> Georeferencer to do it. You must select the same SRC that
your points are.

Good luck

Re: [Qgis-user] New Shapefile Features Fail to Save

2016-02-03 Thread Carlos Cerdán
Hi Springfield:

I've had similar trouble some time ago, as a QGIS beginner user. Previous
given advices are for not too-beginner users, but I think my experience can
be useful for the list (or even for you?):

That time my error was my Snapping options: I had selected two or three
layers and it was selected the "avoid intersections" option, then, when I
added new digitized polygons, they were splitted or deleted (as you tell)
because new polygons were intersecting marked layers in snapping options.
It fixed when new digitizing shape was the one marked (of course to avoid
intersections between her elements) .

Yes it was something simple, my foul. Is it not same trouble?. If so, Check
it in "Configuration --> Snapping options --> Change the Self-assembling
mode to "advanced" and be sure that "avoid intersections" is marked in your
target layer only.

Cheers,

Carlos Cerdán

Try r.fillnulls from Processing or directly in GRASS.

So, we have 30 m SRTMS in http://www2.jpl.nasa.gov/srtm/ . It'll be

Re: [Qgis-user] desktop icons on fresh windows

2016-01-22 Thread Carlos Cerdán
Same experience here but...

*Dear developers,* maybe a short "readme" will be useful to introduce to
new *lone* Windows user to GRASS and SAGA as other independent GIS
applications which are useful to QGIS because this last one uses many
modules of them through Processing (or grass plugin); and explain that it
is done because those are free software, and one practice in the free
software community is: if one application can do well a task, then we use
it and we (well, all of you developers) help to develop this application, or
make another better one, or make plugins, documentation, etc.

That is more or less that I say to new users (all of them Windows users)
and they were always surprised about the idea of free software
collaboration. I also talk about QGIS browser; about GRASS and his raster
skills; about Qt designer, Msys... and after that, we "clean" the desktop
and left just "QGIS desktop" and QGIS browser.

So... What do you think about a short "readme" with some explanation about
why other applications were installed with QGIS in Windows? (and Mac?), and
why Linux users must install GRASS and SAGA with QGIS.

Best whishes

Re: [Qgis-user] Break a line up into lines of equal segments

2015-12-07 Thread Carlos Cerdán
Hi Tom:

Maybe QChainage plugin is what you're looking for:

*This plugin takes line features and creates a new layer of points in
provided distances on top of this Lines. Optionally you can set the
startpoint (distance from the start of the line) and the endpoint (stop
before reaching the end of the line) and automatically label the new points
with the distances.*

good luck

I hope that developers will can do easy to read ECW images on Linux in a

Re: [Qgis-user] ECW on Ubuntu

2015-11-04 Thread Carlos Cerdán
Thank you very much Richard.

After reading (and trying) your link, I've been looking for more recent
help. I found this:

[1] How to install QGis with ECW Support on Linux

As there isn't libgdal-ecw-src on last ubuntugis repository, when [1] says
"sudo apt-get install libgdal-ecw-src", I've tried install it following:

[2] libecw building for gdal

I'm not sure about [2]. Is it the way to install libecw compiling it?.
After that, It's supposed that libgdal-ecw-src is installed but I can't
find it in Synaptic.

After this, I've returned to [1], doing:

sudo gdal-ecw-build /usr/local/ecwjp2_sdk
gdalinfo --formats | grep -i ecw

On last step, I don't got any response, and QGIS can't still load ECW images

Some extra advice?

Regards

Re: [Qgis-user] RECLASSIFICATION ON A RASTER LAYER

2015-09-23 Thread Carlos Cerdán
Hi Mariana:

The official QGIS manual has a lack in this point, so here is a tip for
Raster Calculator: You must to use logical expressions for your task:

(raster >=0 and raster<1)*1+(raster>=1 and raster<2.5)*2+(raster>=2.5 and
raster<4.5)*3 ... etc

Where "raster" is the layer that you want reclassify. Expression between
parentheses takes 1 value if it's true, else 0. Result is reclassification
that you want.

Re: [Qgis-user] Reclass Vector

2015-08-17 Thread Carlos Cerdán
Hola Mariana

Hi Mariana:

If I understand you well, you need to create a new field, making an
expresssion in field calculator, something as:

case
when conservative>=1 and conservative<4 then 1
when conservative>=4 and conservartive<32 then 0
end

After that, you can try intersection... or union.

What about to work as raster?

Re: [Qgis-user] Local Government for QGIS

2015-06-19 Thread Carlos Cerdán
Hi there:

As open source philosophy, personal motivation has a big weight. One
enthusiastic QGIS user can do difference to motivate other GIS users into
QGIS adventure.

I'm working in a local government for two years and half. It took me almost
a year convince other that our geodatabase is public and that we had to
share shapes also, not PDF only (Sorry... life in tropics).

Next step was QGIS. I developed a pilot QGIS course into the office: two
hours each day, per one week, doing exercises with our own data.

QGIS has new followers over here. The seed is sown.

Here, the main feature that attracts to QGIS is the language so i think
it'll be great if plugins can be also translated.

Cheers from Peru

Or...

Do you know about SAS planet?. This is a russian aplication that can be
used for download Goolgle Earth, Bing, and other images. You can download
it from https://bitbucket.org/sas_team/sas.planet.bin/downloads.

Tutorial for use it: https://vimeo.com/72592604

An explanation:

. If you can't download images at 24x zoom, try 20x or less.

Not all GRASS modules have graphical interface into QGIS, but ALL of them

Re: [Qgis-user] Cannot activate grass

2015-03-12 Thread Carlos Cerdán
Hi Luis

Same here. QGIS 2.8.1 on Ubuntu 14.04. That I do is define a new mapset in
GRASS directly, then close GRASS and open this mapset in QGIS and refine
limits and resolution. I suppose this will be fixed in next version of QGIS.

Best wishes

This works for me:

- In the print composer, insert the map with size equal as the sheet, this
is: if you have an A4 sheet, the map must be same size: 297 x 210 mm.

Please tell us if it also works for you.

Inserting an attribute table in print composer, I can't change the font and
size of column header, it's fixed as arial 11. Table contents can be

[Qgis-user] CSVs from Groups Stats and empty cells

2015-03-03 Thread Carlos Cerdán
Hi list

Using Group Stats (very useful plugin!!), in a resulting table with many
columns and rows, the normal empty cells are showed OK, but when save all
as SCV, resulting file ignores empty cells, so it loses the field order and
it becomes unuseful.

Copy all and paste works fine, but when Groups Stats resulting file is big,
RAM can be poor.

Is it a plugin bug?

2015-03-02 Thread Carlos Cerdán
Thank you very much André, I will wait for QGIS 2.8 for use it on
Windows... if this issue is fixed.

On Ubuntu this issue is fixed by unchecking "Use SAGA 2.0.8 syntax". Go to
Processing --> Options --> Provider? (In spanish it says "proveedor") -->
Saga.

On Windows there isn't this option, so SAGA polygon intersection is not
activated.

Hi list

I want to use SAGA Intersection tool from processing in QGIS 2.6, under

SAGA directly, I can see this tool under Modules --> Shapes --> Polygons

Re: [Qgis-user] Raster: replace a single value with another value

2014-11-18 Thread Carlos Cerdán
Hi Andreas:

It is solved: you have to reproject your TEMP layer. I've tried with
UTM-32N zone and raster calculator works fine.

Why raster calculator (and SAGA) doesn't work with your original CRS? Well,
I don't know, perhaps devs group have the answer.

It was a good challenge.

Re: [Qgis-user] Raster: replace a single value with another value

2014-11-18 Thread Carlos Cerdán
Hi Andreas:

I've checked the expression and it's ok. I forgot to warn about the "Actual
layer extension" button in raster calculator: When you have two or more
raster layers, and these have different limits, we have to indicate what
the limit of result is, so, if it's the case, in raster calculator, before
perform your expression, select the TEMP layer and press this button to
ensure that limit of resulting layer is right, else, you'll get a layer
containing all cells 0.

Or... start a new QGIS session, load just TEMP layer and use raster
calculator. Limits don't be an issue.

Re: [Qgis-user] Raster: replace a single value with another value

2014-11-17 Thread Carlos Cerdán
Hi Andreas:

I think QGIS raster calculator can make this job. Conditional syntax is a
little bit... different. The sentence that can do it is:

(TIFF=249)*255 + (TIFF<249)*TIFF + (TIFF>249)*TIFF

Where TIFF is your raster layer. The trick is: if the sentence in
parentheses is true, it gets value 1, else zero; so we have to multiply by
255 to replace the 249 values. Next we have to add the other values.

Good luck,

6. Seleccionar las propiedades a gusto. Color, ancho de pluma.

Saludos

Re: [Qgis-user] Finding Points which do not overlay

2014-09-22 Thread Carlos Cerdán
Hi Henrik:

If you still don't solve your issue, perhaps you can try this:

1. If you don't have it, Calculate X and Y coords. for your two layers

2. Make a table union, in layer properties

3. Create two new fields for calculate difference of coordinates (Xi - Xj)
and (Yi - Yj)

4. Calculate the absolute distance between points in a new field, with the
two previous.

5. This last field is your criterion about absolute difference between
points.

Good luck

Re: [Qgis-user] How to import a Google map

2014-09-10 Thread Carlos Cerdán
In Google Earth select the layer (place), right click and "save place as..."

Select type file KML. Default is KMZ.

Open in QGIS as a vector layer (select filter to "KML")

Re: [Qgis-user] How to import a Google map

2014-09-10 Thread Carlos Cerdán
Hi Marilena:

In Google Earth, you must save your "place" as kml file.

In QGIS you can open directly this KML. If you want edit it, then save this
KML file as a new SHP file.

Good luck

Just a little correction: geometry is not calculated in units of the layer,
but in units of the project. Be sure that "on the fly" reprojection is
disabled. If doesn't, it causes a wrong result (an issue of QGIS that is
not solved yet).
