[Qgis-user] gdal-NetCDF driver not working in QGIS 2.18 with ubuntu 14.04

2018-04-12 Thread Carmine Massarelli

Dear,
I would like to open netCDF file (.nc format) from copernicus project
but maybe there is a problem with gdal library. If you use netCDF
Browser plugin you will see that the driver does not update the gui with
the parameters, so I am able to see only the screenshot attached in
which variable is never visualised and loaded (here there is a link to
download demo data and the screenshot
https://cloud.ba.cnr.it/index.php/s/NByRqPJaR3bsGb8).

The same file and plugin works well under qgis 2.14 in Windows OS.
Please, do you know if I have to install or compile some other libraries
under Ubuntu 14.04 with QGIS 2.18 to be able to use netCDF browser
plugin or open netcdf file as a raster with gdal?

If I run QGIS from terminal I receive this error:
ERROR 4: `../netCDF_example_data/tos_O1_2001-2002.nc' not recognised as
a supported file format.

The output of gdalinfo --version is GDAL 2.1.1, released 2016/07/07
The output of gdalinfo --format is attached (see link).

Thank in advance for the help.

Re: [Qgis-user] grid visualisation issue

2016-03-30 Thread Carmine Massarelli

Thanks Andreas,
I found a "small" solutions to visualise the grid: selecting the EPSG
with native DMS (i.e EPSG 4326) it is (re-)projected on the map with
metric coordinates. This is good for my purpose.

Thank you very much Andreas.

Carmine

Hi Carmine,

EPSG 32633 is meters based, so you can't label it with DMS.

If you want to have a grid labeled with DMS, please select a CRS that
is degree based (e.g. EPSG 4326). Note you can even have several grids
on the same map: one meter based and one degree based. You could label
top/left with one system and bottom/right with the other system.

The grid and grid labels will always be based on the units of the CRS
set in the grid settings.

Hope this helps,

Andreas

Dear,
this is what happens when I create a grid in the EPSG 32633:
1. I create a new project with that EPSG;
2. I open a layer in the same EPSG;
3. I open print composer;
4. I create a grid selecting the correct EPSG;
5. I select write coordinates as decimal (native system) and it works
perfectly;
6. then I select DMS coordinates format and It seems to refer to
random number (in this order for the longitude: -40°, -120°, 160°,
80°, 0°, -80°, -160°, 120°, 40°) but not to the correct DMS for the area.

According to you is it my fault?

They are from CASI iperspectral sensor, at the moment the only way is to

Please clarify what you mean by .raw files? Are you referring to images
taken with a DSLR camera?

Thanks,
Alex

generally it's due the fact it's not used correct UTF8 decoding of the
string to write...
probably you have not ASCII characters (ascii is the default char
coding) as à or é etc etc in you file.

correct coding/decoding should be managed by the plugin = file a
ticket or modify the code and prepare a pull request.

Re: [Qgis-user] Install Qgis on Ubuntu 14.04

2014-06-13 Thread Carmine Massarelli
The guide to install SDK to read /.ecw/ is here
(http://permalink.gmane.org/gmane.comp.gis.osgeo.ubuntu/870), but does
not work in qgis 2.0, maybe i need qgis 2.2.

So can I follow your instruction?

1) open a terminal
2) gksu gedit /etc/apt/sources.list
3) enter password
4) add this lines in the end
deb http://qgis.org/debian trusty main
deb-src http://qgis.org/debian trusty main
5) save
6) back to terminal
7) gpg --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv 47765B75
8) gpg --export --armor 47765B75 | sudo apt-key add -
9) sudo apt update
10) sudo apt install qgis

Someone can help me to explain the procedure to let seeing .ecw file in
qgis 2.0 or to install 2.2?

Thank to all
