[Qgis-user] Transform not solvable

2017-08-16 Thread Charles Barrows
I have a Georeferencer raster scan with 9 data points arranged in 3 rows of
3. I've checked the points out on the image for consistency of sequence,
both x & y's, and they look good.

When I push the transform button I get the message "..:transform not
solvable." I did make some mistakes while placing some of the data points,
for which I deleted the bad ones and added new ones. Could the transform
program be confused because the locations are now in a random order in the
GCP table, or could it be something else?

[Qgis-user] Georeferenced work won't write to file

2017-08-12 Thread Charles Barrows
Georeferenced work won't write to file

Cannot figure out what I'm doing wrong. My georeferenced work on a raster
file contains 7 points in the GCP table. The pixel/Easting/Northings
calculated with no trouble and filled the table. The data points with
labels show up on the raster display. Using Thin Plate Spline, which was
the only transform type that has worked for me before. Resampling method
Nearest Neighbor. Target SRS: (Kansas South) Everything sets up, but after
clicking OK the modified.TIF file doesn't show up anywhere on the disk
drive.

[Qgis-user] DXF export.

2017-07-12 Thread Charles Barrows
I'm rather new to QGIS but very impressed with its capabilities.

I'm trying to georeference a raster photo from Google Earth. Using the
GeoReferencer plugin I go through the procedure using data points in a
decimal degree format. WGS84 survey. The procedure seems to go OK,
including the "start georeferencer" and the Load to QGIS. I am using the
Transformational type Polynomial 2. But, the DXF export fails. What am I
missing?

I have been entering the longitude into the x/box as a negative number
because I am in the western hemisphere. Does the program not like negative
numbers?

[Qgis-user] GEOREFERENCER COORDINATE ENTRY

2017-02-28 Thread Charles Barrows
The dialog box for coordinate entry indicates that data can be entered in xy
footage, dms, or dd. But when I enter coordinates as dd, it thinks I
entered northings-eastings as footage. How can I get it to recognize
decimal degrees?

[Qgis-user] maps rotated and reversed.

2017-02-26 Thread Charles Barrows
I am using the Georeferencer plugin on a jpg map. Everything goes
smoothly, but the resultant map file in QGIS has been rotated 90 degrees and
reversed. The rotation is easy to handle but I can't figure out how to
reverse the reverse. What am I doing wrong?
