Done ! I'm the owner of geodata now, and can interact with GRASS without
trouble :)

Here is the result (I didn't paste the whole directory information) :

jer...@jeremy:~$ ls -al /media/Docs
drwxrwx--- 1 root plugdev8192 2010-03-25 16:34 .

After verification I'm listed on the group plugdev.

This is the line about /media/Docs in /etc/fstab :

/media/Docs is a automatically mounted partition every time i startup the
computer. Do you know how I can check if I'm fully authorized on it ? I
don't remember any similar issue with it but it could be related.

Here are a couple of screenshots of the issue through grass without qgis :
the first one (1) is the terminal window, the second one (2) is the
"introduction window" of Grass. I can't create neither open any Mapset...

Thanks for the help,

I tried to reinstall it but the same issue remains. It looks like I'm not
authorised to work on any MAPSET I created (through the QGIS plugin).

Hi Giovanni,

You're right, I didn't give any detail !

Running Ubuntu 9.10 and installed QGIS & GRASS from the unbutugis PPA.
I'm using QGIS quite regularly but not GRASS - I had the software for a
while, but I installed the plugin only a couple of days ago.

Let me reinstall GRASS to get a fresher version and I'll give you my
feedback here.

[Qgis-user] How to smooth a TIN ?

2010-03-23 Thread Jeremy G
Hi,

Starting with a point vector shapefile, I did a TIN interpolation with the
QGIS plugin. If I try to shade it as it is, the result is full of
irregularities (1). Is there a method to smooth the result ?

Thanks !

"permission denied".
I don't understand because I installed GRASS and created the MAPSET

Thank you both for your answers. Goyo, your procedure work quite
straightforward, I've got a nice result, still have to adjust the parameters
but this is it.
Micha, The GRASS-QGIS way also looks interesting, thanks for the link. And
I'll check your blog, nice to discover a new QGIS-tips source :)

[Qgis-user] Creating an elevation raster from a point vector shape ?

2010-03-03 Thread Jeremy G
Hi list,

I've got a shapefile with points. The altitude (Z) of each point is
registered as attribute data.
Is there a way I can obtain a shadowed elevation raster with QGIS ? I've got
a little or no experience with raster processing, but I learn fast :)

Thanks !

Re: [Qgis-user] Cannot open / convert any KML in QGIS ? (OGR)

2010-01-13 Thread Jeremy G-2

Hi Mario,

Thanks for your answer.
(I'm replying on Nabble because I couldn't see your answer on the list,
don't know what's going on)

I tried to access my KML files from the converter but it highlighted another
bug (!). I can't figure out how to display the files in the directory. I
screenshot the issue with the plugin window on the left and the file
explorer on the right side. When I click on the file type dialog (where the
mouse is on the picture - are you still following ? ;) ), I don't have any
choice of type - just "OGR file datasource"(1) - and cannot see any file
even if I know there are KML files present in the directory (Kml or Shp, the
issue is the same).

I'm running QGIS 1.4 on Ubuntu Karmic.

Any help welcome ! Thanks,
Jeremy

Hi list,

I'm trying to read / write a couple of KML files that I created in Google

Is there a known limitation of KML from Google Maps/Earth with OGR ?
