Re: [Qgis-user] 202021-ESRI gdb not opening on macOS Big Sur Version 11.0.1
Hi all, Have tried it on QGIS 3.14 with the same results. I do not believe it is a problem with QGIS per se but the libraries with Big Sur. I will hold off for a while and work on the Ubuntu machine which has no problem. Thanks for the help. [Qgis-user] 200717 - How do I enclose an orthogonal grid of points with a polygon boundary.
Hello list, I hope this finds everyone safe and healthy during these trying times. I am using a MacBook Pro running macOS 10.15 (Catalina). QGIS version 3.14.0-Pi. QGIS code revision 9f7028fd23. I have a shp file containg 2 653 337 points in an orthononal grid with 25m x 100m spacing of the points. The grid is oriented north south. These points are in lines spaced 25m in the easting (X) direction and 100m northing (Y) direction. I would like to apply a polygon as a boundary (red) as shown in the screen grab below. I have not been able to achieve this using convex hull as the final output does not take into acount the sawtooth steps. Any help or pointers would be appreciated thanks. [Qgis-user] 190415 - Is there a size limitation on import of csv files in QGIS 2.18 and 3.4?
Hello List, I am running QGIS v3.4 Madiera LTR and QGIS v2.18 Las Palmas on Mac OS Mojave v10.14.4. I import a lot of data in *.csv and *.txt files and then convert to *.shp and run various QC queries on them. This morning I have had an "error", both in QGIS 2.18 and 3.4. Both sytems are hanging and I have to force quit to get out of QGIS. The 2 csv files I am trying to bring in are 161024 rows of data and 165678 rows of data respectively. The second file (165678 rows of data) hangs both QGIS 2.18 and 3.4. This also happens on a Win10 machine. My question is: Is there a limitation on the number of rows that can be imported in a csv file? Thanks in advance. Paul -- */Paul T. A. [Qgis-user] 161103 - ecw support for QGIS 2.16 on Mac OS Sierra.
All, I am running macOS Sierra v10.12.1 on a MacBook Pro. I have been running the stand alone installation of QGIS 2.14.3 with ecw support successfully in the past. I downloaded and installed QGIS 2.16.3 from www.kyngchaos.com with all the associated packages. This has GDAL 2.1 I also downloaded ERDAS ECW/JP2 SDK v 5.2.1 and copied the file libNCSEcw.dylib to the following location as instructed: Library/Application Support/GDAL/1.11/Libraries/libNCSEwc.dylib On starting QGIS and loading a project with an ecw image I get a message informing me that the image is not a supported raster type. Unfortunately I am not a programmer just an end user. There are 6 of us on a mix of Windows, Linux and Mac OS systems using QGIS. This problem only seems to affect Mac users after upgrading to QGIS 2.16.x. I am obviously missing something here, can anyone help please. Thanks in advance and BR. -- */Paul T. A.
