Re: [Qgis-user] mdal / mesh simple formats

2022-08-29 Thread Peter Petrik via Qgis-user
Hi Matt,

all files in the MDAL/tests/data are supported and should be working. There
could be few possibilities why it does not work: 1) your QGIS does not have
that particular MDAL driver compiled 2) you are not opening the file as
mesh layer but as raster/vector layer
MDAL has a small command line utility that can be used to test if your file
works without QGIS (you may need to compile it though)

Re: [Qgis-user] mdal / mesh simple formats

2022-08-29 Thread Peter Petrik via Qgis-user
Hi Matt,

MDAL basically supports a bunch of data formats that are mostly defined by
the suppliers of the results. It comes with the fileformat (e.g. ASCII or
netCDF, ...) + data spec (which arrays are defined/expected with which
properties). So either you need to replicate one of the supported formats
or
alternatively we can write a data reader for your format in MDAL.

The link on the main web download page is indeed

latest sucessfull build in the subdirectories ltr/pr/nightly

I can confirm on the other project (crayfish) the same problem related
to pyqtgrapth (both 0.11 and 0.12 versions) with EXC_CRASH (SIGABRT) in
PyEval_SaveThread. I am investigating it, but it wouldn't be easy to
debug

Re: [Qgis-user] QGIS MacOS

2020-11-19 Thread Peter Petrik
Hi,
MacOS packages are not notarized (yet), so it is expected that the user has
to open the application for the first time with right click and accept that
the app is not notarized.
There is no ETA at the moment for this feature (it was supposed to happen
with latest QGIS grants, but it was more complicated at the end).

Kind regards,
Peter

Hi,

The official all-in-one installer requires at least macOS 10.13. You may
try Kyngchaos' alternative installer.

Hi, unfortunately, with the all-in-one installer (official) you can't,
since it runs on gdal2. But you can with the latest nightly
https://qgis.org/downloads/macos/nightly that will become the next QGIS
3.16 release.

For other distributions (Kyngchaos, conda, homebrew, macports, ?) I have no
clue what they support.

Peter

Re: [Qgis-user] Grass Processing Tools fail in QGIS LTR, PR & Nightly Builds on MacOS

2020-09-17 Thread Peter Petrik
Hi,

sorry for all problems connected with the MacOS bundles. I hope that
the reported issue should be fixed by commit
https://github.com/qgis/QGIS-Mac-Packager/commit/218a571f6f268dcc4490ebe1a00068bfe363b2ae.

Can you please re-test if the issue persists with build:
https://qgis.org/downloads/macos/nightly2/qgis_nightly2_master_20200917_044804.dmg

Problems with the GRASS processing provider in QGIS 3.10 and 3.14 were
caused by complicated settings of PATHS, linker paths
and other settings in various GRASS and QGIS scripts/binaries
(partially coming from homebrew builds). The GRASS (reliable)
deployment
was one of the drivers for complete refactoring of QGIS dependencies
used for MacOS builds
(see https://github.com/qgis/QGIS-Enhancement-Proposals/issues/177).
Now we have full control of building and patching GRASS as needed.
QGIS 3.16 release will be first using the new system,
you can test it in "nighlty2" builds (nightly are still based on "old"
homebrew deps and QGIS 3.10 LTR will be released
with them). You can grab your nighly build in
https://qgis.org/downloads/macos/nightly2/

Kind regards,

Peter

Hi,

if you use official installer, it creates you different directories for
different versions (e.g. /Applications/QGIS3.10, /Applications/QGIS3.12). I
have multiple version side-by-side without any problem.

Hi Julian,

thanks for reporting the issue I have raised
https://github.com/qgis/QGIS/issues/32511 also with a workaround for the
issue. Watch that space for potential official fixes.

You do not need to prepend path with system python any more. QGIS
installation should have all the files/software it needs.

Kind regards,
Peter
