Re: [Qgis-user] Cartography of the Azores
Sorry for the delay in replying, I've been without internet for a couple of days. Thanks to you all for the suggestions which I'll be exploring in the next few days. There are just so many great resources out there if you just know where to look! I'll be back if I have any comments or queries. First time I've heard of Quickmap, but I've already downloaded and tried it and have to say... wow! Obviously with my connection it's still pretty slow, but the choice is amazing. [Qgis-user] Cartography of the Azores
Hi everyone. I'm working on a project based in the Azores and wondered if anyone knew of any reasonably good free topographic base maps I can download, strictly for non commercial purposes. At the moment, I'm trying to use the OpenLayers plugin, but I have a VERY slow internet connection which makes OpenLayers or WMS frustratingly slow to load. "Or else... have a nice weekend ;-)" That may be the best advice yet :-). Actually, I've managed to bring the window back to the principal monitor by getting the "focus" on the Georeferencer and using the Windows keystrokes to move the window. Thanks Richard, and of course I was talking about 2.18.4, more haste less speed! I've found and tried the "Reset user interface to default settings". [Qgis-user] Problem with georeferencer window
Hello everybody. I have a visualisation problem with the georeferencer window that I just don't seem to be able to resolve. Some time ago, I used the georeferencer on a second monitor. Now I no longer have that second monitor, but when I try and open the georeferencer, it still tries to open on the second monitor, so remains invisible. Is there some way I can reset this? I'm using QGIS 2.1.8.4 on Windows 8.1. [Qgis-user] Printed map scale question
Here I am back again with what may well be a very simple question (though perhaps with a negative answer). I have digitalised a zoning map on a 1:25,000 base (for Italian readers, IGM 1:25,000). So far so good. Now I have to render the results in a clearly legible high resolution image for printing. To display the full map on the screen, I have to set the scale at 1:185.000 and obviously if I create an image file at this scale using the Composer, even if I set the resolution high, the base map is scarsely legible. Is there any way I can get an image of the whole map at, say, 1:75000... apart from creating a whole series of image files and then joining them together using image processing software?
