What coordinate reference are you using for your map view and your data? Currently, 3D is only supported for projected data. Likely because you do not have a graphics card in the computer or is not supported. DEM looks fine in the map canvas but does not show up in 3D Map View . I am working with QGIS V. 10.3 Caruna. #D Map view even appears blank for any vector layer also.
