Re: [Qgis-user] Identify features
Hi Dario, In the QGIS 'Preferences' under 'Map Tools' at the top of the window 'Identify' you can set the 'Search radius for identifying features and displaying map tips' the default is 2.00 mm. In the 'Identify Results' panel you can also set the tool to 'Identify Features by Radius', which allows you to set the radius every time with two clicks. The default setting 'Identify Features by Area or Single Click' also allows you to click and drag to select within a rectangle. -Thayer On Thursday, April 6, 2023 at 03:00:46 PM EDT, qgis-user-requ...@lists.osgeo.org wrote: From: Dario C To: QGIS User List Subject: [Qgis-user] Identify features Message-ID: Content-Type: text/plain; charset="utf-8" Hi, Is there any way to decrease or increase "identify features" action area? I tried several sequences of Project > Open different projects within same run of QGIS - Identify Feature continues to work. However when a single feature is selected it does not get highlighted (colored) though its values do display correctly. [Qgis-user] Identify Features popup and viewing feature metadata question
I am using QGIS v2.0.1 and am also using PostgreSQL/PostGIS as well as GeoServer. In my PostgreSQL, I have a feature table that contains an ID, title, and point geometry. I have published the table as a WMS/WFS via GeoServer. In QGIS, I added a layer to the feature table with a direct connection through the "Add PostGIS Layer" and I also added another layer to the feature table through the "AddWFS Layer" (which goes through GeoServer). When I click on the "Identify Features" icon and click on a feature that is on my PostGIS direct connection layer, I can see the ID and Title for that feature in the popup window. If however, I click on the same feature but is in the WFS layer, I don't get that other metadata. I only see the coordinates for the feature. I am new to QGIS and these types of geospatial tools so I am not sure what the difference is. Am I not seeing the other metadata fields when working with the WFS via GeoServer because you don't get the other field data with that service? or is it an indicated that I am not properly registering or accessing the layer over WFS? or ??? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated - Peter ___ Qgis-user mailing list Qgis-user@lists.osgeo.org http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/qgis-user

[Qgis-user] Identify Features (vector) blocks ui when selecting feature
Hi All, I am having consistent problems with the Identify Features when using a large a vector layer. Using a large shapefile dataset, if I click on a feature that has a large span and many intersections (for example a single feature that spans many rivers in the Amazon), the UI is unresponsive (but the QGis process is working intensively) and I have to kill QGis after many minutes of waiting. I have also noticed this in other large shapefile datasets. Is there a way to stop the query/lookup in a graceful manner, like you would using the "Stop Map rendering" button? Do other users have this problem? Would I get better performance using a spatial index or importing the data into PostGIS? thanks, Etienne ___ Qgis-user mailing list Qgis-user@lists.osgeo.org http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/qgis-user
