Hi, 
If you use you use the openlayer plugin, make sure "on the fly CRS" is 
activated as the plugin will change the project CRS without telling you (look 
at the CRS in the lower right corner).  OSM layer is always a good place 
to start if you want to make sure the data is in the right spot.

[Qgis-user] Query in QGIS

Dear Users

Greetings !!

I am new to QGIS ( Version 2.8) . I have a map file (jpg image) of a
district

I also have an excel file having latitude and longitude of 20 Hospitals in
that district.

So far i have converted that excel file in to tab limited file.

Then i added one layer in QGIS Desktop and that shows all 20 hospitals as
points.

But these 20 points are showing in open area, not in the district map
 boundary.

How do i put image file and then show 20 hospital in that map.

Any idea will be grateful.
